You can absolutely use information from the internet. The best place to start for this sort of information is the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change fifth assessment report (https://www.ipcc.ch/report/ar5/). Each section of the report contains a summary for policy makers that is a shortened and easy to read version of the full report. If you need more info on certain sections you can then refer to the technical summary or specific chapters of the full report. If there is a particular area that you are interested in let me know and I can send you some links to other information. You can get information from the wider web but check the source of the information to make sure it is scientifically credible. Hope this helps.
