Sorry, but this game is just... a mess.
It's the worst Fears to Fathom-like game I have played.
Which leads me to an interesting question: Why are you trying to make the game like a complete clone of Fears to Fathom but at the same time you're not following the FTF type of story?
I mean, why not make a completely different thing instead of trying to be a FTF knockoff?
And I'm not saying it as an insult, because you definitely have potential.
But why not create your own thing with your own style and let Fears to Fathom be Fears to Fathom?
Because remember this: Fears to Fathom became an awesome franchise because of how fresh and original it felt.
And there is nothing wrong with taking inspiration from another game, but if you're constantly trying to copy something, then it will end up feeling cheap and will give the impression that you don't have any good ideas of your own.

Yeah, I want to give a 5/5 review of the actual game. I know that you can!
And sorry if I sounded a bit too harsh in my original reply because, to be honest, I was having a bad week.
I know this might sound stupid, but my mood and wellbeing can affect how much I enjoy a game or a movie.
In fact, on second thought, I actually changed that rating to 4/5 now.
I didn't know that you were a new developer and you seem very kind, I also want to be a game developer so I should be more tolerant with other people's mistakes (you already know more than I do, anyway).
I really hope that you find great success with this game and I'm looking forward to playing it.
Good luck!
I really tried to love this game, and to be honest, the story looks interesting and the pixelated style is cool.
But it's way too slow and you can't skip any dialogue.
I almost gave up at the part where I had to block the door from the creepy guy.
I was constantly getting killed because I couldn't find how to block the damn door, especially considering how dark everything looked.
But that's not the worst part...
The WORST part is that I had to spend more than 3 and a half minutes just to get to the point I was. That is simply ridiculous.
So, I ended up looking for a YouTube playthrough to see what I had to do.
I shouldn't have to do this for any game.
But to be fair, there IS a lot of potential here.
Well, I have mixed feelings.
In terms of gameplay, this game was fun at the beginning, okay in the middle, and monotonous by the end. The PSX visuals are nice to look at but there's not much more in terms of entertainment.
I wouldn't say that it was either good or bad. It was certainly interesting but it wasn't scary... until the end.
I'm gonna be honest, the ending of the game felt disturbing with that scary music that starts when God is about to come.
I actually liked how we never get to see who or what is "God" in this game, and it's certainly not a benevolent thing, whatever it is.
The fact that we never see "God" after we hear that creepy music made the ending stand out for me.
I'll give this one 3/5
The game is kind of creepy but it has a serious programing issue that didn't allow me to finish it.
I was at the part where I had to enter the code, but I wasn't sure about the numbers so I tried to go back to the underground place to check it up...
But the game does NOT allow you to go back down there.
Well, I had no other option than to exit the game and watch the ending on a YouTube video.
2 out of 5 for this one.
Nah, I'm not saying that you're wrong by any means, pal. And I also understand what you said.
Most developers use shaders and effects to emulate the PSX look, regardless of how the original models look.
I'm not an expert, but I also have some PSX and retro effects that I have bought, and they can make anything look pixelated, even if it was originally high res.
However, if the polygon count is too high, then you will still notice it, even if it's pixelated.
But that's ok to certain degree, because not every PSX style game needs to be 100% faithful to how the games actually looked and played back then.
If we really wanted to make a game that was completely like the original PlayStation, then we wouldn't even have a mouse, let alone 4k, widescreen, and 60fps.
Oh my Poop Lord.
I think I'm starting to regret this.
Anyway, you can make a thousand Poop Killer games if you want; no one will stop you from doing that.
But whether people keep buying them or start to get tired is another thing...
And trust me, I don't want to sound like a hater because I like your other games.
I just have something against this one franchise in particular.
Sorry, I didn't want to say this because I have been a big Gamezl fan for a while, but the sad truth is that this game mostly sucks.
To be fair, I was actually enjoying it quite a lot at the beginning, until I realized that it wasn't as good as it first seemed.
And when I came to that final part where I had to follow the screaming in the woods, I found myself wandering around forever like an idiot, and the screams' direction never made any sense, so I ended up quitting the game and watching a video of it in YouTube.
That totally ruined the experience for me. But the ending was quite disappointing, so it's not like I was missing much anyway...
Also, what was the point of talking to all those random people just for NOTHING at all?
Really, you just talk with each character only once and they serve no other purpose other than to create the false sensation that this game is deeper and bigger than it actually is. You never see any of those characters again and nothing important happens to them either. And yes, you could argue that a similar thing happens in other Gamezl game that I like, which is 'Missing Hiker.'
But in that case it was fine because it wasn't open world and you were just looking for someone. But in this case, it just felt wrong because your character is supposed to be an officer/investigator, and there are some characters and certain places that I wanted to investigate a lot more.
What happened to the officer that you first encountered in the game?
What about the guy who was stuck at the side of the road? Did he survived?
What about that weird girl who didn't want to talk to you?
Why is it that people do not like the police around here?
Did something happened at the motel? Because I felt like I needed to investigate that area deeper...
I could literally go on and on asking for questions that were sadly never answered.
All of this gave me the impression that this game was probably unfinished or made in a hurry.
Edit: Oh, and to make things even worse, I just realized (after replaying it) that you can finish the whole game without even talking to ANY of the characters at all. You can literally just go straight to the cabin and unlock the ending without doing anything else, which further proves that all the NPCs are 100% pointless.
Seriously, what kind of "game" is this?
And don't get me wrong, I truly love the other Gemezl games, and this one definitely had potential. I was really waiting for this game and I had high expectations for it because the previous games were so great.
And this game really felt creepy, suspenseful, and the open hub world concept felt cool at first. The fact that the story was centered around mimics was a good idea, because I love all those stories about mimics and doppelgangers; that's something that I find truly scary and disturbing.
So, the concept was great...But the execution and the ending were a major letdown in my humble opinion.
2 out of 5 stars (and trust me when I say that I wanted to rate this higher).
Ok, why the hell are there 8 games about Poop Killer?
Seriously, do so many people actually like this thing and are begging for so many damn sequels (that are all basically the same crap)?
Or is it that the developers keep making these games just because they like doing it for some weird reason?
I really wonder, because I honestly don't like them too much.
And don't get me wrong, I like most games made by 616 GAMES, but not these ones. I don't even find them either funny or scary to begin with, except for a few scenes here and there. The Poop Killer games mostly feel like something that any obnoxious kids would do in their free time.
The fact of simply adding fart noises, dildos, and marijuana references, doesn't automatically make a game "funny" or "cool" unless there's a deeper story that makes it so.
But in this case, it's all the same thing over and over again, like the slow-motion shit in all the games.
And keep in mind that I actually forced myself to play the 8 games and paid for all of them. But I doubt that I will bother playing a hypothetical "Poop Killer 9 or 10" if those games ever get made.
I'm sorry, 616. I'll keep playing your other games. But I think that I got tired of these. They're not my cup of tea.
I can't play the game at fullscreen and I also cannot see everything.
I actually found a workaround and it was lowering the scale of my desktop to 200%.
I then realized that there IS an option to toggle the fullscreen mode, but I couldn't even see it until I did what I mentioned earlier.
I think that this is an issue worth mentioning because the first impression is very important, and that could end up giving a negative experience for some people.
That being said, I absolutely love this short prologue and it's 5 stars for me!
I'm now going to start playing the full game...
It seems that this game is currently broken. I can never get to the end because the monster always comes to me and I have to start all over again from the beginning.
But there's nothing that I can do to avoid it, as far as I know.
I rated this game 2 out of 5, but I would change my rating if someone tells me how to fix this.
Update: Nevermind. I just learned from a youtuber that the game just couldn't be finished for some reason and that the creature randomly killing you is the actual "ending."
Well, in that case, I don't think that I will give this a higher rating considering that it's not really a finished product to begin with. Which is sad, because it certainly had pontential. :(
I really liked the demo; it was one of the weirdest games I have played.
The only thing that I didn't quite like was the fact that the main character is always running so fast that it almost feels like you're playing as Sonic the Hedgehog.
And don't get me wrong, I do like that speed for certain parts where you definitely need it, since this game has a lot of platforming sections. But there could be a walking speed with the option to press "Shift" to run like in this demo.
Well, I have mixed feelings about this project...
In one side, the story, graphics, atmosphere, environment, etc., seems good. I love PSX style horror games.
But in the other hand, I find the gameplay to be mostly frustrating…At the beginning, there’s a part where I had to interact with the mirror, without even seeing it, in order to progress. And then I literally spent a long time in the first-person VHS sequence wondering around like an idiot, until I finally searched for a YouTube video to see what I had to do, which wasn't obvious at all.
And the game is constantly like that. Also, the way in which the game switches between a normal 3rd person and fixed camera feels a bit annoying.
There was another part where I had to look at the TV screen and use the arrow keys to change the channel...Once again, how the hell was I supposed to know that?!
The game should at least have a text in one part of the screen that says: "Use the arrow keys to interact" or something like that. But it says nothing.
In other words: It looks that this game is based on what they call "Moon Logic."
What I don't know is whether or not these things were intentional. If it's not intentional, then it should be fixed along the way. But if it IS intentional, then I'm afraid that this is not my type of game and that I just came to the wrong place by mistake.
Well, I quit.
I didn't finish it.
Now, I'm not sure if I would say that it's a "bad" game because there's certainly a lot of work put in the atmosphere and all that. The performance is also great with my PC.
But the thing is that I personally just hate this type of game. This reminds me of that old "P.T." demo thing where the player has to spend hours going in circles and looking around because you needed to find some small little detail in order to progress. I spent more than 3 hours in this game already but I got tired of it (the story didn't grab my attention that much either).
Sorry, I do have a certain level of patience but I'm not going to use it for this.
I'll give it 2 out of 5.
