No, Unreal Engine

Oh definitely you can check my game out!
https://datalioness.itch.io/disconnected
I'd love to get some feedback as well!

Yeah I worked on this alone.

Completely agree, my level design skills aren't the best. I think I did improve when making the last level.
But yeah the other 2 levels that I made were a bit meh (The first 2 being essential for introduction purposes)

I totally agree!
I'm sad I only figured out this cool level design idea 3 hours before the deadline when I speedran the entirety of the last level.
I honestly think I want to improve my level design skills and learn that by expanding on this game.
Thank you for your feedback!

I really love this! AI kept beating me in that arcade level tho grrr. I guess I gotta practice more!

I'd really like to add levels.
My current favorite level is level 5.
Level 1 & 2 are just there for introduction so they're also needed.
But I do not like level 3 & 4.
Level 3 is a bit too linear and level 4 is a bit confusing.
For this game level design was definitely the hardest challenge and I finally only understood what I could do with the mechanics I have when making Level 5 so I've got a couple more ideas for new levels that I'd like to try out.
For more mechanics I'm not sure what I'd like to add.
I had 1 more idea with enemies where they would be walking around on the same path and with the perspective of your camera you could already see them while your character might not even see it yet.

Thank you a lot! 💜

Heya I'm Damy!
I'm a 21 year old game programming student, I've got experience in Unreal Engine and have been working with it for a bit over a year now.
I've also written custom game engines but I don't plan on using that for this game jam.
Apart from being a programmer I also love game design, specifically system design.

I'm looking for a team because I prefer working in teams rather than solo.
Programmers, Game Designers, or any other people who would like to help work on a game together.

For my University I've worked on a couple of games one of them is listed on itch.io.
- ORTUS: https://buas.itch.io/team-cumin

I've also attended 2 jams 1 organized within my university for students and 1 was the Global Game Jam 2024 which was also organized at my university.
- WolFish: https://spel16.itch.io/wolfish
- Cataboom (Global Game Jam 2024): https://datalioness.itch.io/cataboom

I'm most experienced with Unreal Engine so I'd like to work with this as well.
So if there are other enthusiasts out there willing to work together for this gamejam do reach out to me on here, Discord or Twitter.

In the meantime we DID add keyboard and mouse support in the latest 1.0.1 version! Go check it out! And don't forget to leave a rating.

I played the game for over half an hour just now.
I had about 1 million score and then no worms spawned anymore.
Making me not be able to continue the game which was very sad.

This will be added soon! =D
Stay tuned!

I really love the game you guys have created, the music & sound effects really helped with those spooky vibes. And the gameplay itself was also terrifying (I'm not a big fan of horror games) but I did really like this.

Its weird because screensharing on Discord does detect it.
Which is something that uses the same approach on detecting windows I guess but that's apparently is not true.

Was made with C++ with a custom engine I've had to build on top and modify a bit for an intake for a school I'm applying for.
That engine template can be found on: https://www.3dgep.com

Had that issue as well and just captured my screen and later on cropped it to make those gifs I added to this page.
