great game. tbh I would remove the diagonal shooting. most of the time you want to walk so you can dodge while you are shooting up. Hopefully the next version of the game will have a less linear world. I would also like the platforming to be a bit less puzzle like (idk I guess im just bad) I did really enjoy the slingshot movement though
Firstly great game with a cool mechanic but I would like to share my thoughts on some bugs and gameplay decisions you made during the project.
Firstly as stated in another comment: if you hit an enemy with great downwards velocity you phase trough them and die. I would suggest removing their damaging hitbox immidiately when you kill them.
secondly: in level 3 there is a part where you need to bounce on some enemies to get up, but when the enemies die you cannot continue, forcing you to kill yourself. I would suggest giving them unlimited HP or making an invincible second enemy type speciffically for platforming enemies.
and finally: if you get stuck in a block your downwards velocity keeps increasing, tbh this is rage enducing as the character plummets at 5 miles a second to their death.
I hope you continue developing and turn it into a full game. Maybe a metroidvania or something? For now im just gonna speedrun this alpha version (please add an end screen with a time I beg you as a speedrunner).
Also please add cyote time and jump buffering it would make the game way better.
