I don't like that much visual novel. I only played this genre when I studied Japanese.

The sound is unpleasant. I undertand it was done on purpose, but every time you click when you are fast to read, the sound seems reset.

Graphics and story are nice, I guess It the most important in this genre of game.

Amazing graphics, musics and sound FX.

I feel bad about our move speed.

I'm not able to progress in the second level. I guess we have a way to go top out on our view,  this is suggested by the tree with the top of it out of our view. I make some attemps, but failed and feel quickly bored. I tried to look also for other solution but stay stuck.

Also, bug report: The dialog don't progress anymore.
Click on Play button. Pause the game (when you reach the second level ?) and go back home page. Play again and this time the dialog do not progress.

Graphics are nice and music do the job.
Level are too similar in my opinion.

I feel the choice of the control little odd. Since "wasd" is often used for movement.

A pretty long game for a 1 week job.

Probably even more to discover. I finished without getting the magical hammer (if it is possible).

The hitbox of the sword make his use more painful than trully hard and the fact that the caracter take twice more space than most element (hit box include) make situation akward.

  • Quest are nice, when you visited place and talk with people it is easy to understand what you have to do.
  • I like the shop idea.
  • Character design is nice but seem not fit with the background art.
  • Nice game name.

I'm not a big fan of this type of game but their is quality here.
I have to spend 100 life to reach the check point then little less to reach the end. A lot of death are due to the fire on the button "x", I think their is better place for it.

The game design is nice and the torch here to guide us is sweet.
If feel the flame hit box a bit to much punitive, the rest is hard but fair I guess.

Oh, the death animation is fun.

If you like hard game you can give a try to our game.

It more than possible, it should happen.
When the pick-up "miss" you should be able to see the new position of the key in your screen.

Their is no random, so when you try again, you can use what you learned on your previous try. If you play enough you start to remember the map, at some point the challenge become to speed run the level.

First, thank you to try our game, and even more thank you for your feedback. Detailled comment by the community is really precious for us to improve.

  • Busy artist and bad planning don't let us the time to have the level of graphism quality we wanted. So we can definitly improve that.
  • The key, you just have to walk on them, and the same for the door when you have enough key. Number of key needed are given during the instruction, and the key color is also here to help. I agree we should be better to convey it.
  • For control, I also agree. I think we could even make a pad controller and why not mouse.
  • You have actually a 0.5s delay before the caracter reset to is cell, then 0.2s more after the reset before the game keep going. I don't know if 1s would be better. But more test and adjustement on that could be done.
  • For the theme, yes, you don't have it from the start. It may be a problem for a jam to make a difficult level and make you need to progress to see the theme. None of us have experience on Jam, no experience in game making in general.
  • I had the "I don't care about the narrator" ending. In fact, I think have to wait the end of narration start to feel akward after having it.
  • For a maze with tiny level, you can probably use a door system. But to fit with the game, I imagine finding the true path based on narrator, so many more work needed. Plus maybe changing your code on how level and door work.
  • Slime attack with sword animation. I didn't find how. do it our self.

Their is a way to go for the second door on the first level ?

Congratulation on good luck with the new human.

The second test is easier than the first one for me, it give a strange feeling.
The computer typing sound is unpleasant, the music during the test is really nice.
Concept on the test phase is interresting, sad to don't be able to do more.

It could also make your rating worst. If you keep with only 20-25 rating, maybe you keep with a lot of the severely.

Or maybe it's the last stage of game developement, good marketing, sell the game to the correct target to have a nice meta-critics score.

Really nice game, a lot of fun. I could reach 6 differents end.
The audio sound is a great plus. The control are fine but could be improve.
Some critics incoming, I like this game a lot, more you like, more you are picky. For other, don't read if you don't want to be spoiled.

  • You can move using A/D or left/right arrow, but you can't go throw door with up arrow.
  •  I would like to be able to pass the introduction, or the reset put you right after. It's fun the first time, then I felt more and more bothered at each game iteration.
  • The "maze" is not a maze, you have only one path >I guess related to liar narrator
  • You are stuck and can't move most of the time during instruction.
  • No sword attack animation, I'm sad I can't use my toy.
  • When you don't jump on the 2 first hole no more instruction.  Then jump on the secret one "you jump in the one I explicitly said you to not jump" when he the narrator didn't. He just told you to be careful.

Simple and effective. But something missing to keep me playing it.

The art are really nice. The game concept is sweet.

I would prefer to have the light switch on the keyboard.
I am playing on portable computer, it was my main problem.

PS: At least one level can be complete without switching the light.

The concept is interresting. I had a too short experiment to enjoy it on his best I guess.

Guard are here to be avoided. You will need to be patient, take your time to analyse their path.
The game is planned to be challenging and create some good frustration. If the guard are easy to escape, we loose this.
Don't overreact one the death, it's only a game, you can die a lot of times, you only need one success to make it worth.
