Really liked the idea of the game being fully made in Assembly, runs very well on Linux with Wine.
I haven't encountered any major issues during my run, i got to layer 17 before being succumbed by the ceiling tentacles haha
Overall a really interesting project, whilst fairly simplistic gameplay-wise, it does have unsettling visuals, especially the audio work; this project goes really well as a tech-demo as Assembly is something i really never had enough braincells to even comprehend. Great job!

ok it has been like almost 3 years since i made this game (2 since i uploaded), so let me clear up the confusion and why its called "the game"
i made this game with my friend invice (aka referred as zigzag in credits) a while ago as a lil' surprise game for joel, but we've tried to contact him almost anywhere we tried and we kinda just... failed
the game is named "the game" to keep it looking like a virus and mysterious, but no one kinda just cared about the game, even us lol
i think we made it in a period of 1 month, it was my first ever (standalone) game i've ever made, and at the same time the first game i made for a ytber
coming back to this after multiple years, im surprised at how a lot i;ve changed lol, idk if anyone's reading my monologue rn, but im really proud of this game even after those 3 years....
well... yeah. with an artist you can ask them to make pretty much any asset which goes against the jam's rules, but if you cannot make something yourself, you can use something already pre-made as long as it's foss and your entire game is not overusing it, so that your game isn't just an asset flip. it's different than having a team since with assets you can only choose whatever is available, but with a tea, you have much more power over your entire project. Also make sure to credit every asset that you may use! pretty much sure that will affect your game rating..... or not, its up to acerola honestly lmao
Hi there, so i was planning to be streaming my entire developing process in my friends discord gc (10 people), and i was thinking, is getting feedback on the game development during the.. game development allowed (receiving any feedback on my game, like fixing this, adding that, etc.)? or is any social interaction abt the game not allowed? lol
