Thans for playing! I'm pleased with the result myself :)

Ooh, thanks for the headsup! I'll see if I can make time for it :)

Ooh, thanks for playing! This game was very experimental for me, I haven't explored randomization and sci-fi that much in my projects. I wish I had programmed the scanner replies to exclude already shown replies, but it was outside my coding abilities. Something to try out next time!

I'm glad you liked the aesthetic! The scanner is quite something 💜 I'm not sure I'll expand on this game's world, but you never know... I want to explore more sci-fi at some point, so it's not impossible. :)

Glad you liked it! I feel like this prequel became a lot bigger than the project it's a prequel to. I might expand this "world" in the future!

Hi!

I'm planning on making a historical/mythological otome where the MC is a married woman who falls in love with a bog water spirit. The game has some creepy vibes (wandering around a misty bog and sensing an unknown being there), but it's more about romance and building trust between MC and the water spirit.

However, the MC suffers from domestic violence (by her drunkard husband), and I'm not sure if it's considered disturbing by the rules. The game won't show beating, but the bruises are visible on MC's face. MC seeks to appease her husband at first, but it backfires when he finds out she's pregnant (with water spirit's child). The husband chases MC to the bog, where the water spirit kills him in MC's defense, or the husband drowns by falling into a bog hole. The killing/death isn't explicitly shown or described. In the end, MC turns into a water spirit to live with her love and escape the human world.

Would this be considered disturbing by the rules?

Thanks for playing! I should've made it clearer that the scanner computer is sentient, and the text displayed is not the player's but the computer's. The player can communicate only by selecting "yes" or "no". I was worried that the body shells would make the player think they are alive when they're not (they are just a "platform" for the scanner to communicate to the player). I shall allocate more words for exposition next time!

Thanks, I'm glad you liked it! I wanted to experiment and see how a visual novel would work as a sort of theatre play. The expressions are challenging, and I tried to make poses that could work in several situations and moods. Then again, drawing more poses is more work than drawing more expressions... In hindsight, side images (character portraits in the dialogue box) might have helped with better conveying the characters' emotions, but I wonder if they would've distracted the viewer from what's happening on the "stage".

I explored this style further in Curse in Bloom, which is more like a mixture between a play and a comic book. There I used character close-ups which helped with the expressions a lot.

While I don't think I'll add more features to Fall of House Misra, I'd like to see it colored. One day... :D

This was so calming 💜 Loved the soundscape very much. The illustration style reminded me of a certain tarot or oracle deck, but I can't remember which one. A lovely experience!

Really liked the text effects! And the art is lovely💜

Ooh, such a cool take on O2A2! I felt very inspired after playing this 💜 I would like to see a postmortem or behind-the-scenes on this!

This was sad but relaxing at the same time. I don't have a furbaby, so I have never lost one, but I have family who have. You've depicted the hard decisions and feelings of letting go very well.

Great atmosphere! Didn't expect to find a line about Thoth. Well done! 💜

What an adorable blush! 💜 I wouldn't mind getting new opportunities to tease that out of him...

The art style is gorgeous! The sprite and BG fit so well together 💜

If you want to add more life to a scene like this in the future, I recommend trying out Ren'Py's SnowBlossom particle effect. It's easy to use and modify and works great for fireflies, flying embers, rain and what have you...

Looking forward to more great stuff from you!

Lovely art and an ethereal atmosphere! I especially enjoyed the voice acting, it fits with the game's aesthetic and story well. I didn't have trouble with the font contrast, but the size of it was a bit hard to read in the settings. Is there a way to play the game full screen?

Got the true ending first! 🎉 The first playthrough for me lasted three hours (I don't know how someone could play it in one hour! Though maybe there are earlier endings).

The game has a bit slow pacing at first, but it picks up later. Loved the sprites! At times I was a bit confused with the scenery, as the description/dialogue made me think the characters were outside when the images showed them indoor. Might be just me though.

I got The House in Fata Morgana vibes from this. I would love to read a postmortem or behind the scenes post about your process 💜

I lied! The game has now some happy(ish?) endings too!

Love the new art 💜

I've found that chopping up the tasks (like writing) into smaller chunks makes the mountain of work feel less daunting. Finding ways to make it easier to work on the game has helped, like writing on google docs on my phone (I can do it anywhere, a line at a time if I don't feel like writing much otherwise). Try and find out what works best for you!

Good luck and take care! 🙌

Oh Flea, you silly bug... 💜 Love the 30+ representation!

Thank you for your kind comments! I tried to pay special attention to the background art since Nisbet's writing doesn't put that much emphasis on character interactions (but more on the main character's inner thoughts), so the sprites don't have that much screen time. I'm glad you liked Ariadne, designing her different forms was fun 💜

Aww, thanks! 💜 We had so much fun recording the cat, Muossi, our voice actor. I'm glad his voice made you feel good!

Beautiful and clever! I especially like how the color gradient adds to the feel of the game.

Haha, I have to check back on it myself too! Glad that it helps 💜

Glad you liked it! Thanks for playing 💜

Thanks! I tried to make the page fit the game aesthetic. I can't take the credit for the writing though; that is all late Nisbet's handiwork. :)

Thanks for making so many awesome fonts! I used this one among others to make "titles" for billboards in a cityscape illustration, where I didn't want to have any legible text. Love it!💜

Thanks for playing, and well done for getting all the endings! 🍻

Thanks! I was uncertain if the relationship between her orders and the letter's content was too vague, so I'm glad it worked. :)

Thanks for the tutorial! I have been thinking of starting to use git, and this helps a lot in understanding it. The only thing I'd add is some screenshots of the steps since I don't know for example what GitHub Desktop looks like (and because I like pictures :D). But still, your explanation of using git was fun and clear to read! 💜

I made this game a tragedy from the get-go (the title doesn't really hide it 😅), so it doesn't have any happy endings, unfortunately. I tried to make the endings so that the player finds out new things from them, even though they're sad. I am working on adding more graphics and audio to the game, but I probably won't touch the story. I do have other games in plans with some happy endings. 😉

Thanks for giving it a try, anyway! I will take your cat's suggestions for improvement into consideration.

Haha, this was fun! Nice and quirky game, I liked the characters a lot 👍

It's alright, I understand your concern. I can relate to the feeling since I'm always nervous to push the publish button for my own projects. >_< I will try to be more thoughtful with my future feedback. 💜

I am very sorry if I have offended anyone with my comment, it wasn't my intention. I liked the story a lot, it was just a thing that bothered me, and I wasn't sure if it was something that others would have trouble with, so I wanted to mention it. I originally hesitated to post about it, and I realize I shouldn't have. Sorry.

Beautiful sprites! I also liked the music very much.

My pet peeve is head patting / hair ruffling. To me it feels a bit condescending, so when the LIs do it to MC it feels like they're treating her like a child. 😅 Touching her cheek/chin/shoulder or swiping back a lock of her hair would feel more equal, imo. But that might just be me. Other than that, I enjoyed the dialogue and banter, especially when they tease Seir for his funny comments. 💜

To help out with the bugs, I kept notes while playing Orias's route. It got quite long, so I made a doc:

You have a great game brewing. Good luck with the development! 🙌

Oh, then it makes more sense! I hope we will hear stories from the regular customers too. :) And thank you for the latte~

This is a lovely game! Nice to see a monochrome art style, and the voice acting was superb. Can't wait for a polished, bug-free version! I too got only the ending where Cyril disappears (if you don't count all the dead ends!).

Loved the art style and animations! There were a bunch of missing images though, and at Orso's place Pietro would end up standing behind Orso. Sometimes the environment didn't change even though dialogue implied so, at least in Vinca's and Cyril's place. I also got an error when visiting Orso, but I could ignore it to continue playing:

I'm sorry, but an uncaught exception occurred.

The granny stole the show for me 💜
And I too want a sacrificial lamb plushie!

The Crone's lines kept repeating when I was playing on Auto Mode. Otherwise, the game ran smoothly, and I liked the organic character sprite art style.

Wow, this was surreal! The artwork is whimsical and suits the theme. I especially liked the dream sequence and the animation there. I hope you will add an in-game menu in a future build because I missed having an Auto Mode option. Other accessibility options would be great too.

The characters and the mystery make me want to learn more about the world and lore. Please keep developing this further!
