Thank you so much for making this game.
I adored every witty moment of it and I love how you managed to capture the "beyond happily-ever-after" feeling and little acts of love being above the grand displays.
Hi, thanks for reaching out.
Could you give more information about your system? E.g. your operating system, more specs of your laptop, and your graphics drivers?
One thing I recommend doing is pressing Shift+G when in game and testing whether any of the graphics options there change your experience. Sometimes screen issues are due to incompatibilities between your screen drivers and the game engine.
Hey there.
The game data is stored in a different directory, depending on the operating system you're using. First you have to find the RenPy global save folder on your OS:
And there the savefiles should be in the UnderMaintenance-1651390449 folder.
Oh. The most likely issue that comes to mind is something with Ren'Py 8.0 not playing well with older versions of Windows (I feel the sentiment, I also usually drag out upgrading to the last possible moment).
I recompiled the latest version of the game with the old Ren'Py 7.4 engine, could you tell us if this works?

Hello. We're trying to figure this issue out and have some further questions that would really help us with that:
- Have you had similar issue with any visual novels using Ren'Py engine before?
- If you're on a Windows System - what's your Windows Eidtion, OS build and Experience (available under Settings -> System -> About -> Windows specifications). If you're on *nix - what distribution?
- When you first run the game via the executable (UnderMaintenance.exe, not through itch.io launcher) it creates a file called log.txt in the game install directory. Is the file created for you, and if so - what are it's contents? There might also be a file called traceback.txt.
- Are you able to launch the game while holding down the "Shift" key and double clicking on the executable (without the itch.io overlay). That should launch it in options configuration mode.
