Haha thanks so much for playing! I’m glad you enjoyed :)
You were super close with the final puzzle, there is another lever nearer the drawbridge which you have to make your fairy hold while the weight is on the hooked one and then the drawbridge will open :)
I’ve never tried to design a puzzle before and I wasn’t super happy with that one but at least my next will be better!
No problem and great work! I faced the same issue in my game of not giving the player as much direction in the beginning as they needed (you'll see me answering a bunch of questions in the comments because of it lol). I think directing the player without holding their hand too much is a really important and tough challenge in game design.
Thanks for playing! Optimising the graphics for different machines was something I unfortunately didn’t get time for. I’ll take a look at adjusting the bell sound. You may be surprised to know a couple of older people I showed the game to couldn’t hear the bell at all or very faintly!
Glad you enjoyed :)
Awesome game, super atmospheric lighting and fog. My first playthrough I unfortunately found the pills straight away, and on my second it took a lot longer and I died. Sound is cool and visuals start to get really creepy after you have been hit a few times. Jumpscares could be worked on and I'd love to see some more levels in the future!
(The MacOS issue was my fault. The default mac unarchiver breaks most games so use an app called The Unarchiver instead https://superuser.com/a/1474193)
Thanks for playing! Where did you get stuck? The first thing the player has to do is break open some of the crates nearby the spawn point. After that, you'll have enough materials to craft an axe with which you can chop trees and free the fairy from the cave in the forest. Let me know if you need any more help, guiding the player in game is definitely something I need to work on.
Good news! The issue was on my end. Turns out if the default Archive Utility on Mac unzips the file it doesn't work but if you use something else like The Unarchiver it works perfectly. (https://superuser.com/a/1474193)
Thanks for the feedback! The walking speed and mouse sense are definitely things I was unsure about.
To proceed from where I think you are, you need to find the cave near the forest with the big wooden board over it (you should be able to year a bell ringing to indicate where it is). You can chop down the board and inside is the fairy which will help you open the door on the upper level where you'll find the final puzzle of the game where you will use the stone weight. :)
I hope that helps and thanks for playing!
Wonderful art style and interesting concept. It wasn't super clear what the objective was to begin with but I got the hang of it. Controls could do with some work as unfortunately after a few levels I wasn't able to reach all the tiles so I couldn't complete it. Excellent music and good work nonetheless!
Absolutely amazing! Loved every bit of this game and is the first one from this jam I'll definitely be coming back to play again! Congrats on coming up with a fun, original idea and filling it with such great art in just a week! Please consider continuing work on this game as I'd love to see more features/levels added in the future.
Really fun and unique idea! Maybe I'm just dumb but it took me a couple of tries to realise I was meant to type out the messages, but as someone who enjoys practising typing, it was super enjoyable. It could be a great way to practice typing! Lovely art style too :)
The only recommendation is to give the player some time after you make a mistake. I was trying to go quickly and making one mistake meant I got two or three subsequent ones wrong.
