FilmJam community · Created a new topic Results!

Thanks to everyone who participated in the game jam, it was a right blast and I had a lot of fun playing them all on the game jam stream the other week! To work out the winners, I decided to use the 'does the game fit the film' as the main score but then I also used the other questions as well but divided them by two which I thought seemed like a good idea! We have some prizes to give out, sponsored by https://filebase.gamedevhq.com/ so make sure to go check them out if you haven't already, it's a collection of assets that you can use for your games on a subscription plan! Without further ado, the winners are as follows: In first place is Hungover In second place is Cabin Sim And in third place is Delivery Service. Congrats to everyone, if someone from each team can just let me know how many people were in the team, I can get you guys sorted with a year's subscription to https://filebase.gamedevhq.com/

FilmJam community · Created a new topic Film Jam Stream!

I have decided that on Monday 19th September, I will be spending the day playing the submissions entered into the jam.

I'm hoping to have a little segment on each where we can take a look at the developer(s) who created the game and see some of their other works as well.

Thank you to everyone who entered, I hope you all had fun! I'm hoping to host more in the future as well so stay tuned!

Channel I will stream on: https://twitch.tv/embershadow2019

Pick which you want, rules are quite loose for this game jam!

For this jam yes, but I think in future jams I might be a bit stricter! :D

You called?

Sure, why not!

1) Is interactive fiction allowed?  As in something text-only, no visuals or music or sound?

For the sake of being inclusive, I'm going to say yes.

Also, can we submit something we were making for another jam so long as it fits within the time-frame for this one and goes with the "film adaptation" theme?

2) Sure!

Great question!

Due to the nature of copyright and trademark laws the direct use of any protected intellectual property, whether for sale or not, will be infringing on copyright laws. Therefore the games created for this game jam must be inspired by a movie, but should not infringe upon any copyright or trademark, so please avoid using identical names, dialogue, appearances, or music.

I hope this helps :D

Finished, no. But playable yes. So if you wanted to submit the first level of a game, for example, that would be fine!

I'll start! I am the Embean and, I'm not a game dev, but I do love games and trying to be a part of the indie game community which is why I want to start arranging game jams like this one!

I do, however, work full time as a web dev so I do know some smort stuff as well! Just not the game smort stuff. I tried once and it ended rather badly.

I also stream in my spare time, with a big focus around indie games. I like to think I'm quite friendly and welcoming and provide an inclusive space for internet goers!
