The song effects are WAY too much. They add a cool ambiance to the game I just cant play the songs because I cant see the notes. Add an option to turn the effects off or down and you're golden with this. Keep in mind I'm not saying the effects are bad, simply saying I cant tell what's even happening.

I feel something similar to how skills work in project zomboid would fit this game pretty well. so not exactly what you said.

Here are some issues I saw with the steam page on first look

1) I believe 'presented in' is correct in this scenario

2) Progression not progresion, you missed an 's'

This sentence sounded odd to me, I believe there should be a 'to' here
