Thanks for the kind words! I'm interested in lots of different aspects of game designs and each game I work on is an opportunity to explore more.

I'm glad you're enjoying it! Thanks for linking to criss-cross. I had never heard of it before now so I just watched an explainer video. You're right they're very similar! I'm not too surprised at the similarities though, because the design lineage of this project does loop back around to roll-n'-writes eventually. (tiny islands inspired hellscaper which inspired this) In any case, I'm happy to have any game of mine compared to a game by Knizia :)
Hello! Thanks for reporting this, I'd love for it to work smoothly on Safari. That sounds frustrating about it reloading partway through. A couple questions:
* When the game doesn't save, does the whole thing start fresh or does it load from a couple turns back?
* Does there seem to be any pattern to when the game reloads? (like, after you place a piece or after X seconds or something)
Looking forward to finding a fix for this!
Hi! I'm glad you like the game and that's a pretty good PB! Could you elaborate a bit on the game reload thing? If it's something like "Loading game for first time" that might just be because we're live updating the game as we add new features. If it's something else, I'd like to hear more so I could take a look and try to fix it!
I considered adding a preview or choice for the next domino. I think it would work but it would change the feeling of the game in a way that I didn't want. I'm prone to analysis paralysis so I try to make games that don't trigger that in myself and having more information on your turn would balloon the time spent searching for the perfect combination of moves. I also like the feeling of trying to hedge your bets because you don't know what will come next.
I see, thanks for explaining! Since the game is launching tomorrow I've prioritized the easier / most impactful things to add.
Tomorrow when we launch the build will have an instant restart, which will only work when speedrun mode is turned on. The default key is 'R' but you can rebind it. In addition, starting a new game in speedrun mode will not trigger the intro cutscene.
We won't have the jump count or aggressive spider that we discussed here, but I'll keep monitoring for interest and if it seems like there's a committed group of speedrunners who would benefit from those features then I'm open to adding them in the future.
Thank you so much for playing and taking the time to write this insightful post!
I see what you mean about the spider. You are clearly very skilled at the game, so it is not challenging to you, but it kind of needs to be that speed for newer players so they can get past it at all. HOWEVER, you're giving me an idea where it could speed up a lot if you get the double jump in, say, under 2 minutes (which would prove that you're speedrunning!). I'm not sure if we'll have time to add that, but I am now tempted to do so :)
Quick-restart is another thing that I don't want in the game off-the-bat since a new player accidentally clicking it would be very sad, but maybe I could bury it in a menu or cheat code somewhere... hmm
Stats summary is also a neat idea! I see why duration of a run but I'm less clear on the usefulness of single and double jump counts, could you explain why you want those?
