This is a huge feat. Thanks for sharing the process and building such a creative piece of software for others to create with

Nice to wake up this morning and see this on gameoftheday.org. Love all the little details and warm colors.

Congrats on the event! That's quite a big feat to showcase your game at one of the biggest gaming events. Thanks for sharing your tips on running a booth like this. Excited to hear the new music!

Miss the days when all you knew about the game what was on the box art. Really did feel like treasure hunting. I try to replicate that feeling by just not reading reviews for anything. I don't even keep up with the latest releases so going to a used game shop is a lot of fun still.

Thank you for sharing. Selfless is a beautiful experience and I'm glad people got to experience it in an intimate setting. Happy to hear that things have gotten better.

Visuals are really meditative. Time slows down when you play this. You can vibe and drift about endlessly but there's also a puzzle that adds subtle changes to the experience. Nice work!

Wow. Awesome. Sounds like it will be a lot of fun. Best of luck with the tour. Hope it's a noisy one.

Congrats on the release!

The music is so beautiful. I take the same approach with all my games. Music drives the atmosphere so much. I often just lie down listening to ambient, drone, minimal electronic playlists and let my mind wander and build words and worlds. Looking forward to this experience!

Interesting dither look and quiet narrative. Visually and conceptually (the b&w, noise, less than 8 minutes) it's really similar to a game I made. I love seeing more visuals like it. Great work.

Transparent information like this is so important for other devs. Thank you!

Congrats! What a cool way to expand the world of Terranova.

Everyone experiences art differently. I've heard people mention that they feel that same sense of unease and claustrophobia as well. Like the city is suffocating them in the same way that it does in real world. I'm happy that you shared your thoughts.

Beautiful. Big pet peeve of mine is when people comment on a person's small personal game with a critical "review" like it needs to be a AAA hyper polished experience and must follow a capital G game formula. It's like going up to a persons sand castle on the beach and telling them it would look better if the castle was taller and had straight lines. I much prefer hearing about personal reflections rather than graded reviews.

Incredibly beautiful experience. So many fun little playful interactions and animations. I grew up in a snowy city and I have fond memories of long winter walks. This brought up some warm memories. Loved the atmosphere and you really captured the sense of exhaustion and relief that a winter stroll feels like. Nice little visual surprise for those that explore fully.

That was great. Walking is so healing.

Any updates on this? I really like the blogging feature and have started blogging here more often. Because of the lack of discovery and organizing features I have opted to organize it on my main page with some CSS, but would be nice to have blogging more integrated.

This reminded me of when I was a kid and got lost in a big department store. I only vaguely remember it. The photogrammetry feels like a half remembered memory mixed with some eldritch abominations. Good stuff.

Wow, this was VERY good. Excellent writing and slow tense build up. Gave me an otherworldly squirmy feel.

Big mood. Can't wait.

I love taking slow nature videos, so experiencing this in the context of a puzzle was really interesting. Fun rewarding challenging with beautiful videos.

Really enjoyed this. Reminds me a lot of the marble game Venineth in terms of atmosphere. I had some trouble with some of the platforming, I'm not the best at these games, but the environment and music kept me motivated. Very well done.

Fun idea! Love the art and it definitely made me laugh and smile a lot. Great job!

Thanks for compiling this. I have so many random nature recordings. The idea of using them in an FMV project seems like natural fit and a good creative exercise

I know itch.io has a very small team. I think it would be nice to address the comments here. I personally think a system like Bandcamp is nice. I like the developer having control of their page. There are a lot of mean reviews and comments I've seen people make. Let us choose reviews to highlight on the page. Or just let us turn off reviews. Some people don't want to be scored by strangers and just want to share art for the joy of it.

Edit - Just realized you can turn off ratings. That's great.

Agreed. There are sooooo many free to use resources, many of which are even public domain. I made a blog post curating a list.

Fascinating process. Exophilie is unlike anything I've ever experienced. Thanks for sharing!

If you have 5 minutes and you're awake between 12am  and 5am, try out my experience:

Headphones, playing in the dark, and lighting a candle recommended

Thank you for making such fun tools. Welcome back.

Nice relaxing adventure. So many fun animation movements. I really enjoyed this :)

Nice daily dose of cuteness. I love the way the dogs react. Your games make me smile :)

I found the man and it made me smile! I love the art style.

Really enjoyed this. Nice creepy buildup and strong minimal atmosphere. It's amazing how much you can do with so little. Well crafted.

I like the recent addition of blog posts, but I'm having a hard time discovering them. Is there a way to see a global feed of blog posts or see what other blog posts someone you follow has made?
Thanks

You can read the in my itch.io blog post.

It's full of 3D assets, 2D assets, sound libraries, music resources and all of it is either public domain or under a fair creative commons license. Hopefully others find it useful.

Great collection of zines! I love how powerful EZM is. It's amazing seeing the creative diversity this tool helps create.

Incredible audio design and warm visuals. This was a nice meditative treat.

Great recommendations! Looking forward to more.

Congrats! That must be an amazing feeling. Definitely looks like you put a lot of work into this game and I'm glad it paid off.  It's nice to see unique games like this get recognized and enjoyed by more people.
