Also that's a great idea about some additional mechanics. I think there are even more ways to improve gameplay too. Like more complex dialogs (3+ options) and different characters (with percs). Some in-school mechanics sounds great too .
I think that C++ is the most common approach. But I'm also considering Kotlin (as my main language), Rust (as a great alternative for C++) and Python (a lot of prebuilt solutions). I'm also thinking about the way to deliver the game (I'm thinking about the WebGL build).
