This is a demo/prologue of a very unique take on the "souls" genre. I hadn't seen many people try to distill the souls-genre to something so simple, so I wanted to give it a shot. Its like if Geometry Wars was a souls-like. Really curious to hear what people think of this, open to feedback!

Good vibes. Simple but very satisfying collecting as many dice as possible.

darn, that definitely sounds like a bug. Every play session is randomized, so if you quit the game and try again it might work.

since this was a jam game, it’s got a few bugs and to my knowledge this bug only happens occasionally. Also because we made it during a jam we didn’t have time to do sound.

UPDATE: it is fixed. We also updated the build to include some new features previously only available in our Nintendo Switch release, so the game is a bit more communicative of the core mechanics. Thanks again for reaching out!

Oh no! Thank you so much for playing the demo and reporting this issue. When you get some time, could you let us know your device specifics (OS, hardware, etc) so that we can hopefully start to figure out what is going on? This is the first we've heard of an issue like this, but we would like to make sure our demo is as stable as possible.

Also if you get the chance and have a little time, you can check out the demo on Steam as well, and see if the behavior there matches too.

Yeah we may revisit this game, and can take a look at improving how engines & weight system work together. The idea was that the mass of the engines outweighs the benefit they provide over time, but we know that it was not communicated as well as it could be (nor does it feel very fair, right?)

Leap, slash, and climb your way to the top of The Magician’s towers to rescue The Prince in the heartwarming platformer from Finite Reflection.


To ascend the magician’s many towers, the titular Gardener climbs magical vines, bouncing on leaves and using his trusty shears to cut flowers which grow the vine and create new platforms. Drawing inspiration from old and new sources, the game’s vibrant visuals feature a unique mix of retro charm and modern sensibilities, combining 2D pixel art with 3D environments and effects.
To rescue his beloved prince, the Gardener will have to make his way across four distinct environments and overcome dozens of towers full of nefarious tricks and traps. Bucking the trend of punishing 2D platformers, Gardener puts the difficulty into the player’s hands with optional challenge towers, an invincibility mode, and a 3-star rating system to incentivize skilled play. Featuring a queer, POC protagonist, the lighthearted and emotional story proudly flips the classic “save the princess” narrative on its head to explore themes of identity and love in an empowering way.”

I just played your game, and its a shame I didn't find it during the jam! It was a really fun and inventive approach to the same concept. I especially loved the way the music built up with each part you added. Well done!

Part of our original idea was making the different ship parts be tetris-shaped! However that proved too ambitious for the jam. It is likely we will iterate further on this, but we want to keep this itch page true to the jam form. If we continue with this, we will make a separate itch page so be sure to follow us if you want to see future updates!

Fun interpretation of the theme! We did something similar, but I really like your idea of using a grappling hook to pull enemies onto your ship and I love how their thruster controls get added to yours, very inventive!
