Gorgeous landscapes! Fun concept that plays right into the jam theme 🙂 Good job!
Playing this game made me learn on a deeper level the two bits of advice I hear all the time about game-making. Keep your ideas simple but fun. It's better to make 2 or 3 good levels rather than 20 mediocre ones. As soon as my one dice started to be 5, 10, 20 dice my brain went "weeeeeee!!! this is fun" Then my smile turned into a grin when i discovered the "huddle". Now, we were more than a mob of dice, we were a team! I loved it. I loved it so so much.
Now, the first level, with its green grass, sky, and inspirational music, created the perfect experience/feeling. A new game, a fun and exciting game. I was going on a new journey and I loved it. So then you get to the second level. As you drop into the level selector (brilliant by the way) the game maker doubt creeps in... "can it top the last level? can it be new enough? will it be different enough but still have all the bits I just enjoyed?.." Oh my word... How can those three levels (especially the last one) be a part of the same simple game but have such different worlds/emotions/stories even? Your choice of presentation and music and obstacles on all 3 levels complemented each other and built to something fantastic.
We have to remember this is a very short game jam. To discover such a well-thought-out and unique experience like this is just... so not to be expected. You got full marks from me and considering there were thousands of entries I am so grateful I ended up playing this game. I am truly inspired.
A nice concept, and yeah, that's weird finally that there are so few games having tons of dice!
My only complaint would be that I feel the level are a bit too long? A guess that's part of what you wanted to do for the experience, but I think I'd have more fun with shorter and a bit more dynamic levels?
Not sure, just a bit of a feeling I had.
Anyway, cool idea and cool game!
Fun idea, there aren't enough games here that involve like a hundred dice. Satisfies the part of my brain that just wants to play with a big pile of dice.
I wanted to guide all my little dice friends to the end, but a boulder ran over Fred, Sara, and Tom. Really striking visual design. Good job!
Good vibes. Simple but very satisfying collecting as many dice as possible.
