Thank you for the feedback!

The characters designed are fun and the levels are enjoyable. There's also a surprising lack of bugs for a platformer that adds both wall climbing and semi solid platforms. Very well done.

A fine game. I like the effects of the red text and smoke when a meteor makes it past. The background is off putting to me, it looks like an AI tried to make pixel art.

Every published work on here is just so good

I'll keep this in mind

I'm making a game set in the prohibition period of the US. At the very least I'm looking for some jazzy background music while playing the game. If that's something you could do that would be great and of course I'd credit you in the submission. I'm in the discord too if you need to chat.

I finally got an opportunity to place the second layer! I'm not normally one to read a lot of game conversations with focus, but with every encounter with a person potentially giving evidence and information to aid in a fight it felt like it was really important to be invested in the dialogue. It only got a little laggy during the end fight with some of the attacks, but also I'm playing on Steam Deck and so whatever translations my OS is doing to run the EXE may be contributing to the slow down.

I had a passing thought about an alternate game mode for RLZ where it's focused entirely on the battles, like how Inscryption has Kaycee's mod. I would love to just play with deck combos with less perceived threat behind them. Love your work, as usual.

Just finished played one time through. I have no idea of the possibility space from the branching dialogues but from what I experienced I think you expertly captured a feeling of consequences to choices and urgency that I don't get from other games. The game genuinely felt like the stakes are high and I had only one chance to make things right, even with the prior knowledge that I could have just saved and loaded the game and reset my mistakes.

The combat is fascinating to me and I think it was a great idea to have 3 effective pools to build from and attack on, which makes it not so trivially optimizable to build a deck around. Combine that with the strongly tied themes of debate behind the deck-based combat and I see a very strong base for a game here. I will eagerly await for further updates!

Hello! I did have something weird like that happen, now that you mention it. I was in another dungeon, and I noticed that I had a master key already and was able to sequence break the dungeon that way, and the master key in there couldn't be picked up. I didn't think about taking that master key specifically and using it back on the other dungeon I got stuck on. That might let me continue on. Thank you!

Oh thanks for the quick reply. I did go into other dungeons and collect a master key from those dungeons, I wouldn't be surprised if that's what caused the issue I got!

I think I broke my game D: I went into the massive crater's mine dungeon, acquired the master key, but did not complete going through the whole dungeon. When I came back to it at a later time, I did not have the master key for the dungeon anymore, I could not get another key, and the master key gate was locked. This game's a lot of fun though!

I see. I will be following your work then!

I wanted to try this game out because it looked like a cute, casual platformer to try, but what I got out of it was beyond my expectations. Excellent game design, story, humor, use of movement mechanics, and variety of gameplay. It took me back to the first time I played Cave Story, honestly.

I noticed that the game used to require payment to download and now it is made free. However, I would REALLY like to give something (and I'm sure others would too), but the option to do so is disabled. I know there is an option to allow the game to be downloaded for free but still accept payment on this site and so that is what I am requesting! Thank you for making an incredible experience.

I made them better!

Thank you! Yeah that makes sense

Thanks!

Thank you!

Thanks for the feedback!

Made me feel like a terrible person. 5/5

Thank you! I may have made the first enemies too difficult to see, yes

Thanks for playing!

Thank you!

Thank you!

Try the PathOfTheFallen-win32-x64.zip download. There is a PathOfTheFallen.exe file in that build!

Thank you!

Thank you! Reducing the map size makes sense to me.

Thank you for playing!

Yes, it's like that in both builds. I think I can make a compromise by reducing the room's size to make things closer to reach, as changing the speed of the cursor would disrupt the balance of one of the endings.

Thank you! The third one involves using something else.

I like the concept! Managed to complete a 6 chain

Well polished and fun to play
