We're a small, passionate team of two developers working on a 2D pixel art Metroidvania game in Unity. Our game takes heavy inspiration from Soulslike titles and follows the story of a Plague Doctor who ventures into a city ravaged by a mysterious disease. This disease turns people and animals into monstrous beings, and our protagonist, infected himself, can switch between his human and monstrous forms.
We're Looking For:
- Writers/Narrative Designers: We already have a rough story with key story elements, but we need help to figure everything out, write good dialogues, lore and character backstory
- Pixel Art Environment Artists: Design atmospheric environments that capture the game's unsettling vibe.
- Level Designers
- Musicians/Composers
We offer creative freedom in a relaxed, collaborative environment, perfect for gaining experience and expanding your portfolio. You'll work closely with a supportive team as we learn, grow, and create something special together.
About Us:
We've already put in over 100 hours into the prototype, and while we have experience from previous smaller game jams, this is our first major project. You can check out our past work on my itch page to see what we’ve done before.
Important Note:
This is a passion project with no financial compensation. We’re all here to learn, create, and build something amazing together. While we don't expect any profit from the game, if it does generate revenue, everyone involved will receive a fair share.
Send us a message with some examples of your previous work (if available) and tell us a bit about yourself and why you’re interested in joining our team. You can post a comment here or send me a friend request on discord @ufuk9377

We're a small team of two passionate developers currently working on a 2D pixel art Metroidvania game in Unity. Our game is heavily inspired by Soulslike titles and follows the story of a Plague Doctor who travels to a city plagued by a mysterious disease. This disease turns people and animals into monsters, and our protagonist gets infected himself, allowing him to switch between his human and monstrous forms.
We’re looking for a Pixel Artist who is excited to contribute to this dark project. Since this is a non-profit endeavor, we’d love to find someone who’s also at the beginning of their journey and wants to use this project as a way to expand their skills and gain experience – just like we’re doing!
We are currently working on a prototype and have already spent like 50 hours of work.
Your Tasks:
- Design and animate the Plague Doctor in both his human and monster forms in 48x48p.
- Create animation sets for Metroidvania-style movements such as jump, double jump, wall slide, dodge, dash, and basic combat skills.
- Collaborate with us to develop and execute the unique, dark style of the game.
What We Offer:
- The opportunity to work in a small, motivated team and help create a complete game.
- Creative freedom to bring your ideas to life.
- A relaxed, learning-oriented environment.
If this sounds interesting send me a message with some examples of your previous work (if available) and tell us a bit about yourself and why you’d like to join.
Note: This is strictly a hobby project and we dont expect any profit at this time. We are only seeking for artists, who are motivated in gaining experience and working alongside with us on this project, rather than seeking financial compensation. You dont have to be a pro artist or very skilled at this time, since we are learning game development ourselves. We only did a few projects like game jams in the past. You can check them out on my itch page to see, what we did before. This is our first bigger project.
We are also looking for concept artists for our main character and maybe enemies and story/narrative writers, to help us to build the games world.
