Someone stole my artstyle, please arrest them!!! :D
Nice little sandbox and hope you learnt a lot of cool new tricks for the next game jam while coding it ;)
Very polished. I love that you kept the scope limited but made it "a finished game", with a storyline, nice visuals and effects and a soundtrack. From what I've seen, no bugs as well!
As I've said in person, my one gripe with the game is, that it does not make me feel smart for figuring out the signs. Imo, there should be a way to deduce which word needs which symbol. Maybe have a magic book that gives you clues?
Right now it feels either too much like brute-forcing your way through solutions, or too hand-holdy if Ou use the hint system
But I think you have a solid foundation to add more mechanics to.
Great Job!
Looks and plays VERY polished for such a short time just in general actually.
As I've said, I feel like in the beginning there is too much going on for me to be able to form a connection to the characters. Because I wasn't sure whether the answers had to be given fast, I felt a but stressed jumping from one person to the next. And because their picture was relatively small, I wasn't 100% sure who I had talked to before (have you thought about showing the whole chat history with a character?)
Once more characters are "offline" that went away and I was able to enjoy the remaining stories.
As others have said, in the end the delay between new messages is a bit too long.
Loved the connections between the different characters! Not sure how many connections one can find, but that would be fun to expand on.
In general, this has so much potential (and is already VERY nice).
For example you could include pictures that the characters send you that give more context, OR give the player the ability to forward messages / pictures to other characters and see how they react (but yes, that would mean checking EVEN more conditions :D)
Really nice entry!
I'm with @Firespike33 on this one - the concept is really cool, super creative and "unconventional" (Even though I found the use of that word in the introduction text a bit too "on the nose" haha). But the difficulty curve is quite steep.
I didn't really get why coins kill you, and so it took me some time to figure out why I kept dying in the beginning :D
Also I liked the music but the sound effects (especially the text in the beginning) were a bit too loud for my test
Overall - great job!
Hey, I played and rated your entry on stream :) https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1069191744
Hey, I played and rated this game on stream, and even though I had some criticism on the Design, I really enjoyed the concept overall :) https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1069191744

Hey guys, I'm going to stream and rate games from the jam at around 1pm MESZ! I will do so randomly, but will also take some suggestions from the chat. I try to give my two cents in a constructive manner, so drop in if you wanna have an honest review on your game :)
The stream will be on twitch and in english, even tho I also did a short stream in german yesterday.
Had to laugh at the game description :D
The first time I played, I nearly quit the game as it was very frustrating. A more gentle learning curve would have been appreciated (maybe start with a flat level and then slowly go to steeper inclines). But once you figure out how to push the pizza things get easy/easier. The music got a bit repetitive in the end, but that's always fine in a jam game ;)
Good job! I think this hilarious concept has potential!
Cool design! Imo there was a slight quality gap between some of the assets. I think the logo looks really well made and professional, the character and the grassy platforms too. But in comparison to that, the stone platforms were looking a bit bland and could have done with less crevices. Also, the font and the way it was integrated into the game could have been improved.
But overall I enjoyed it and the mechanic was fun!
