damn is it complicated to get this feature in a game. it seems to me nearly every first/third person 3d game needs footsteps but i guess not since otherwise those kind of tutorials would pop out everywhere. sadly i can't get the meta data approach to work :( plays the footstep way to long when i switch floors and it can only detect the default footsteps and 1 other.

edit: so i figured out my first mistake why it was not playing the other sounds on the other ground types. i used the AudioStreamRandomizer instead of the PhysicsSound resource. guess it was a late night for me hahaha. but the second problem is kinda weird. i think i figured out why the sound keeps on playing the same sfx even tho i am on another ground already. if the sound is longer and overlaps with the next sound in the animation it just kinda bugs out and only emits the sound_finished signal after the second audio is finished and if the last sound in the animation goes longer than the animation itself it loops forever until i stop the animation. i just downloaded random footstep sfx on itch and idk what i can do here

I got 143 second in the 10 minute i played. that game is really fun. sometimes a few of the enemies that are only standing around spawned into me or right in front of me. a little help with indicators at the edge of the screen for enemies outside of the screen would be a nice little assist. the artstyle is fantastic and i quite liked the music. overall a pretty solid gamejam game.
