Patch Notes - Halloween Update 🎃

Happy Halloween! This spooky season brings more than just tricks and treats; we're thrilled to introduce a series of updates and fixes to enhance your experience in Road to Hollow Hills. We updated the game trailer as it will show more closer the new levels contained in the demo. Here’s what’s new since our last update:

New Trailer:

Get the latest version here: https://gamesnightwolf.itch.io/road-to-hollow-hills/devlog/823864/road-to-hollow...

Gameplay Improvements

  •     Intro Motorbike Level Restored: Revamped and ready for the ride! Start your journey in true style.
  •     National Park Update: The second visit to the National Park now features a thrilling storm, heightening the atmosphere and challenge.

Combat & Animation Adjustments

  •     Revised Enemy Attack Animations & Behavior: Enemies now feel more dynamic and challenging, with smoother animations and refined attack patterns.
  •     Fixed Unique Enemy Spawns: Addressed issues with certain unique enemies not spawning correctly.
  •     Kick Adjustment: Kicks now use melee damage instead of weapon damage.
  •     Fixed Aiming Animations: Corrected some aiming animations for a more fluid targeting experience.
  •

Character Updates

  •     New Female Dryad Voices: Added multiple new voice lines for female Dryads, increasing their immersion and distinctiveness.
  •     Updated John’s Head Model: Enhanced visuals for John's character head model. Is pretty much WiP, but we wanted to have it included in this patch.
  • John’s Facial Animations: John's face now animates during attacks, adding more life and personality to his combat moves.

Bug Fixes

  •     Lumberjack House Fix: Prevented players from breaking out of bounds behind the lumberjack's house.
  •     General Settings Window: Corrected several input issues.
  •     Resolution & Fullscreen/Window Mode: Resolved issues affecting display settings.
  •     Mouse Input for Jacket Selection: You can now use the mouse to select jackets.

And for the people who played the old demo, this is a wonderful moment to play the updated demo, with new content which was released on March of this year.

We hope you enjoy these changes and have a hauntingly good time exploring Road to Hollow Hills this Halloween! Stay tuned for more updates and, as always, let us know your feedback.

As new patch 091f3, still looking brave souls to play the game and get feedback!
Also, did you know, it also available on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/1345270/view/5922868739492728828

Cheers!

Patch 091f1 has been pushed, fixing a couple of issues.

Still looking for feedback!

Thank you! ^^

Provide a new quick patch fixing a couple of bugs:

- Shadowed Grove: Entrance to Cemetery has some weird collision to allow axe to collide thus break it.

- Music behaviour in National Park, it plays the music wrong.

- Some enemies where doing far more damage that they should.

Cheers!

Hey everyone,

We're thrilled to announce the latest update for the Road to Hollow Hills demo! As a small indie developer, we genuinely value your gameplays and feedback, so please keep them coming.

As we are preparing a new trailer to show the updated content, check the trailer:

So, what exactly is Road to Hollow Hills? It's an immersive adventure survival-horror RPG that promises to keep you on the edge of your seat. Prepare to embark on a journey filled with exploration through eerie environments, mind-bending puzzles to solve, intense monster battles, and character progression that allows you to become stronger and more resilient. In essence, it's an adrenaline-pumping experience that will keep you hooked from start to finish.

Plus a great music. I promise!

The game can be found here:

And also can be accessed on steam. We have a couple of keys for anyone willing to provide good feedback. Thank you very much!

Check it out the demo, we are waiting to you!

Congrats for the winners!

Only thing missing, is really a review where possible (as in a game in development, this is really pretty important and, as to be honest, only numbers don't help that much) Also agree about not able to have a free demo to try it and to be mandatory for the next one. Many of the games had no free version to try on the Bundle, so how you can really put numbers of review that? :/

Ah by the way, in RTHH, demo you just don't wander in the woods. Try it a little bit, give it a try more than 5 minutes ;)

yep, now it works. Thanks!

UE4... for now!

I can not try the game. "Cannot read propery 'build' of undefined when using itch io app.

Really cool. I like it how it plays!

A really cool educational puzzle game. Relaxing. Well done.

Hey there. We will love to see more gameplay for our demo Road to Hollow Hills, so you might also try it :)

It can provide one hour, two hours of gameplay.

Take care!

Understood. Thanks for replying. The patches will wait. Cheers!

Hello there. I have a question.

Since my entry is currently under heavy work, I wonder what happen if I update the game (as I have plan to do it this weekend) It will break the rules so I will not be able to update the demo, or it will not matter?

Cheers!

Quick patch pushed today to fix a few issues:

- Dryad altar does not activate unless you travel to the Mental Palace.
- Revised some interaction as they can not work as expected.
- A long time bug ladder fix (finally!)

Hey thanks for posting your gameplay! Please take a look at the very last build since it will improve a little bit the performance and lessen some of the system requirements.
I really love to see how the gameplay goes!

A linux build has been uploaded too. Please let us know how it plays. Thanks!

Original patch was 091a, but quickly updated to 091b to include HDR and other minor details we saw after testing the first patch.
