Very beautiful tree!

I like the idea of this game a lot: this is basically based on the idea of ecosystem services monetization. I see a lot of potential in this game in communicating the idea of payments for ecosystem services. Well done!

It looks nice when the number of trees on the left-hand side increases as the player has planted more trees. Also pretty trees!

Nice graphics, and I like how the tree in the right hand corner evolves along with the tree planting!

I like the graphics of your trees - the pink color reminds me of the cherry tree blossom (sakura) in Japan!

The introduction set the stage well, and I liked how the Earth's colour returns to blue and green as the game proceeds. Well done!

Nice birdsong in the background! And realistic chainsaw sounds, too.

Great sounds and colours, also great graphics!

The drone is a great idea, nice 3D experience and great colours!

Really nice graphics, sounds, and colours!

Thank you everyone for your jam games! We will return with the jam review (couple of jam games will be highlighted) on 24th April on our Twitch channel: https://www.twitch.tv/gamesnowaaltofi

We are wishing all jammers good luck for the final day of jamming. :)

Youc an watch the announcement of the theme here: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1763965888

We have fixed the form! :) Thanks for noticing. :) Registering to the jam is not compulsory - you can also just submit your game here on Itch according to the deadline! If you want to join the matchmaking, registering would be required. :)

Today (31st Jan) is the last day to sign-up to the second batch of the matchmaking program. No strings attached, the teams will be suggestions!

1. Make sure that you are on our Discord server: all communication of the jam happens there! You will have a dedicated channel for your project even if you would work as solo. Join at: https://discord.gg/YsgagHX
2. If you missed the kickoff show, it is already available as a recording on our Twitch channel: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1716861560
and shorter version here: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1718838827
3. The jam is 1 month long, but you can decide how long you will jam and when do you start or stop. We will ask you to define your development time on the submission form.
4. The technical constraint for the jam is to use an AI Tool in your development process. Our recommended tool is Write with LAIKA, but you can use anything that is legal and fits the license of your game. All tools need to be listed on the jam submission page.
5. The theme of the jam is 'Scream'. You are free to interpret it in any way, just make sure you explain it in the submission form. Here is a short video of the announcement of the theme: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1716938769
6. The deadline is 23rd February and the games will be submitted on Itch.io: https://itch.io/jam/games-now-online-jam-8. You can start building your game page at Itch already now!
7. A gameplay video (link) is required in our submission form. Your game will probably not be highlighted if you don't have a video.
8. Teams and solo makers: make sure that your project is listed on our spreadsheet! Link will be available at #game-jam-teaming channel on Discord.
9. Our matchmaking program is still available. If you did not sign-up for it yet, you can do it by registering again at: https://forms.gle/TfZDYNuf8wr9wT4QA by 31st Jan.
10. You can combine the GNOJ#8 with Global Game Jam by starting your jam process at GGJ and then continuing with us. Check the rules of GGJ here: https://globalgamejam.org/
11. We have very experienced game developers and jammers as our mentors: Eevi from Housemarque (e.g. Returnal), Samuli from Varjo (he has jammed on almost 100 game jams), Arvi from Hempuli (creator of Baba is You) and Tarja from Global Game Jam. You can get mid-jam feedback by participating to the live session on Discord on 6th February or making a video by 7th February. By the end of the jam, also your peer jammers and the mentors will comment your projects on your itch.io pages. The feedback for all submitted games is guaranteed!

We have matched now the first batch of teams, but if you want to start a bit later (for instance by jamming first with GGJ), you can still sign up by 31st Jan!

Also a short video of the announcement of the theme can be found her: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1716938769

Dear jammers, you can sign up for the jam and especially our matchmaking program here: https://forms.gle/TfZDYNuf8wr9wT4QA
We will try to match you with other jammers with equal ambition level and time commitment. :)

Please join the kickoff on Twitch on 23rd January. See the full program here: https://gamesnow.aalto.fi/event-day-2/

In addition to the low-code requirement, we have an inspirational theme. This time it is "winter". Feel free to interpret it as you feel best (for instance win-ter... if you are not keen on the cold season...).

Dear all, the jam has started! Make your way to our Discord (https://discord.gg/YsgagHX) to get a better feel of the community. Even if you do a solo project, you will get a dedicated channel for your project to post screenshots, dev logs and engage other jammers for testing your game and giving feedback. :)

It is a good question. The way we define the challenge in this game jam is that you are supposed to avoid as much as possible of "typed-in" coding. I am not sure how much Blueprint requires typing in on top of the visual scripting. But anything where you drag and drop or use other visual user interfaces are indeed for avoiding the typing. :) Also "low" does not mean no typing/coding... For instance, there is *some* typing even in Construct 3 and it is considered as low-code platform. :)

Thanks for everyone participating!
Check the Review session at: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1446007582

Remember to make a gameplay video! :)

The gameplay video is no longer available. :(
