Hello friends,

Hope you are safe and well!

Just releasing a new Sci Fi futuristic music pack, with synth-based music. It is suitable for a wide variety of games with a sci fi and/or futuristic background. It includes ambient pads, battle themes, trailer cues and exploration themes. Feel free to check it out on https://tacgmusic.itch.io/sci-fi-futuristic-music-pack.

As usual, if any concerns or questions, feel free to hit me at tacgmusic@hotmail.com.

Best wishes,

Thales Guimarães (Geek & Uke)

Hahaha. You are very welcome. Lovely working with you guys and the result was great to my ears :)

Hey guys! Hope you are well and safe out there!

On my third Devlog, I will be walking you through my process to compose the track "A Memory to Forget". This one is specifically aimed for Game Devs interested in music. Will be talking about pleeeenty of cool stuff, including use of ostinatos, articulatons and so forth.

This is a way I found of giving something (even if a tiny amount) back to the amazing Game community.

If this is something you enjoy and would like to support me, consider listening to my new album, A Game Composer's Pilgrimage Vol. 1, released this week on tacgmusic.bandcamp.com and leave feedbacks/follows there should you wish to :)

Let me know if there is anything else you want to hear in the next Devlogs. Next week, my initial idea was to upload another episode on VSTs and editing the loops in a way that it repeats seamlessly, but comment below if you would like to read something else.

Hope you guys enjoy!

All the best,

Thales Guimarães (TACGmusic)

Great game! Action packed, sci-fi FPS shooter. Great work!!

Almost forgot! How could I?

BBC Symphonic Orchestra Discover - https://www.spitfireaudio.com/bbc-so-discover/application/login/

This library from Spitfire is amazing and free if you don't mind waiting 14 days. Great sounding samples there.

Hey Duke, thank you! That's very kind.

I have been composing for a little more than a year, but have been involved in music for quite some time now.

So, regarding the VSTs, I have a few go-to instruments (by no means associated with any of these, my opinion is after testing a wide variety of libraries):

1. For orchestral stuff, I use the East West Quantum Leaps  Symphonic Orchestra (EWQL). It is one of the oldest sampled orchestras, but still does wonderful things and holds pretty well to this day. Of course, you could also go for the newer VSTs from Spitfire and so forth, but they are a little bit more expensive. Sounds wonderful as well. Nothing can beat the harp sounds on the EWQLSO though :)

2. East West Composer Cloud - this is an online subscription (IIRC, ~15 dollars a month?). If you are serious about composing music, consider subscribing to it, you get access to tens of thousands of sample libraries, including ones with folk and ethnic instruments, orchestral instruments, percussion and so forth. EW Hollywood Orchestra comes with the subscription and sounds as good as EWQLSO (but a little bit more "modern") - you would not need to buy anything at all and you can cancel the monthly payments at anytime.

In regards to synths, there are quite a few that I prefer, but did not use any on that song.

If you are going to buy any of these, I strongly suggest waiting for their sales. These companies hold sales quite a few times during the year. This year for example, on Black Friday, there were some libraries from Spitfire that had a whooping 60% discount.

You should also check Spitfire Labs - it is a collection with truly remarkable samples that are free! The pianos sound lovely!

Hope that helps!

Hey guys!

This is my #2 Devlog on composing the music on my game music pack. I will show you my approach while composing the first track to this game music pack - a town theme. We will be going through instrumentation choice, composition and orchestration. Some concepts here in regards to music theory may be a little bit more advanced, but I will be linking some references as we go. Needless to say, music theory concepts really help, not to know what works, but to understand what does not and why.

Hope you truly enjoy! The link is below :)

And this is the reference video:

Hello! I'm Thales Guimarães, video game music composer. I hope you are well in such uncertain times (hoping for a smoother 2021...)!

I just finished composing a game music pack and I received some questions on how my process is to create such a diversity of themes (that fit the same game genre). Granted, we took months of work to select instrumentation, compose, orchestrate and mix.

Hence, I will be starting a Devlog on my compositional approach specifically for this game pack. This is aimed at both new composers and developers that want to try their hand on building a track. While I do not recommend Gamedevs creating their own tracks (not because of lack of musical talent, but due to just being too much information already with all the coding, designing and so forth), it certainly helps to know these things when you hire a musician: you will understand what they did, how they chose the instrumentation, how to ask for a meaningful revision (not using the old "I am not sure what it is but I don't like it"). This will help raise your awareness and give a sense of direction to where you want the music to go.

Feel free to get in touch with me should you have any questions. The project I am talking about is this one https://tacgmusic.itch.io/fantasy-rpg-music-pack.

Below is a sneak peek on what is coming in the next few days.

See you soon!!

Muito interessante! Acompanhando e esperando os próximos episódios!

My music is mainly orchestral stuff that I write for the RPG genres, although I do write some synth-heavy stuff as well :)

Hello!

I am very happy to say I uploaded my first asset today - a game music pack. As a composer, it is a great honour to be in such an amazing community.

This music pack was crafted after months of intense work. It contains 14 loopable tracks and 1 non-loopable theme designed for all subgenres of RPG, but particularly suitable for Fantasy and JRPGs.

It covers a wide range of moods and styles to be used in a variety of situations - and the music is super high quality :)

It includes all tracks in wav, mp3 and ogg.

Feel free to send my any feedbacks!

Hope you enjoy!!

Thales
