I completely agree the title screen really is so gorgeous!!! So much attention to detail in a short amount of time!

Having the nightfall for unsuspecting people seems to be a nice trope, I'm glad you enjoyed it! Hopefully we can increase the spookiness factor for our next update hehe

Thank you so much!!! That's very sweet of you to say <3

Ahhh thank you so much!

Also I'm so sorry for the jumpscare :")  and thank you for enjoying our game!!

Thank  you for the feedback!

I'm very glad you enjoyed it!!!  And the music!!!! My partner did such a good job on making the music, I can't stop listening to it outside the game too, lol. But, yes, the monster bug is a bit of an issue we are hoping to fix soon!

- Leslie

Hahaha yeah! I came up with the idea cause I thought it would be funny, lol

Very nice game! The movement system was very interesting, really good planning ahead to make it based on patterns instead of truly random!!!

The music and sfx fit the game really well, im wondering if there was a composer/sound designer, it would be interesting to see some dynamic music in play or more immersive sound scapes

really nice work overall!!!!

I read the directions on the bottom but it still stumped me for a  while. of course a tutorial would probably be too much for a game jam, but an extra visualization to make it more accomaditing would be helpfull

Very nice game, i always wondered what other variations of chess can be made.

The classical music fits really with this game, and the SFX too!

I wish there was some sort of speed scale with the amount of enemies on the board, if theres more enemies than the enemies animations move just a bit faster.

Fantastic game, although I'm a bit embarrassed to share my high scare haha, It's a very strong showing of your skills to be able to take a classic game and add your own unique twist to it.

The SFX were clean and helped alerted the player about the gameplay

the music was very chill and helped me get into a flow state

one small issue was that it seemed the frame rate is capped? was that you trying to keep the essence of the original game?

Thank you!

haha the border issues complete escaped my mind, glad you enjoyed the atmosphere and concepts!

Hello! I completely get your points, we already "committed" to the idea of survival horror a day before the jam, when the theme was released I chose the easiest way to implement it, I wish I thought about it a little bit more to make it more interesting for the gameplay. Thank you for your feedback, this was a good wake up call to really make sure we focus on fundamentals next time!

-Peterson

Ahh thank you!!!! That's very kind of you <3  We have the instruction for the flashlight in the description, but we'll soon move it to the game too! Thank you for the feedback!

-Leslie

Hello, I'm glad you liked it!
We definitely wanted to get the atmosphere as solid as possible, at the expense of the UI haha
 Thanks for the feedback!

Thank you for your feedback! We appreciate the love for the aesthetics of the game, we spent a lot of iterating and developing it. We apologize for the technical difficulties you are experiencing, although we don't have an official date, there will be a patch fix for these issues!

Thank you for your feedback! This project was part of a 9 week-long effort to make a complete game, organized by our university club called UPE.  Due to time constraints, we weren't able to thoroughly test our game. Unofficially we have a few members working on doing a patch fix for a bunch of these issues, to which we apologize for disrupting your experience with the game.
