Love your take on the classic snake game! Super fun, lots of twists and I enjoy the simplicity of the controls as well! Great game, easy 5/5

Very enjoying, love how the game challenge my adaptivity by constantly changing everything, and the graphic is beautiful.

Love your take on the classic snake game! Gives it so much more depth. And good job on making the level wider so there's enough room to explore ever-changing controls. Looks and sounds good too! Great job!

Thanks for coming to my stream! Here's a recording in case you'd like to refer to it

A strikingly difficult game, but certainly not in a bad way. I feel like the likelihood of the room or inputs being randomized should become increasingly high as you gain a greater score, as to deliver a sense of difficulty progression. Presentation is good, albeit the music is a bit repetitive. Overall, this is a great submission.

Great aesthetics and music, it was definitely tough to control and hard to remember which way the room was rotated but good work! Please rate my game if you have a chance (I saw your post on the gamedev subreddit!)

Very fun take on the classic! I feel like the controls should also be displayed properly when the screen flips, but that might just be me lol

My Personal Best Score: 800

I adore the the gameboy-aesthetic this has going on, and the itch.io page sharing that look makes this feel very cohesive. The game takes a simple, common concept and puts its own twist on it, which is nice. The graphics for player input changing with the randomized key bindings is much appreciated, though I did find myself wishing it rotated with the screen as well.

The two dice for the random effects feels really out of place compared to the rest.

Oh wow. First I just got a lot of room turns and speed ups in a row and I thought this wasn't too hard. But once the input changes started coming my head  really strted turning. Fun twist that adds an interesting challenge to an absolute classic. Good job!

Very cool idea, fits great (and the title is just superb btw). Also I love that we made similar aesthetic presentations :)

Nice interpretation of the of the theme. It really adds a new challenge to this classic game.

Fantastic game, although I'm a bit embarrassed to share my high scare haha, It's a very strong showing of your skills to be able to take a classic game and add your own unique twist to it.

The SFX were clean and helped alerted the player about the gameplay

the music was very chill and helped me get into a flow state

one small issue was that it seemed the frame rate is capped? was that you trying to keep the essence of the original game?

Developer(+2)

Thank you for playing our game!

About your question . There is no framerate cap, it's just how the code works. It's more of a grid snapping movement in order to match the aesthetic of the original game!

Great game, easy 5/5

Nice game! I got 1300 points, had a fun time! Maybe adding more effects would be a nice future feature!

Submitted(+3)

Nice! I wish there were more effects though.

Developer

We actually had more effects, but it made the game more difficult and confusing.

Wow love the retro presentation, could tell that you guys were trying to go for that arcade machine view.

Changing the input controls (and room!!) messed me up quite a bit haha and it got a little frustrating. but still pretty enjoyable.

Cheers!
