I mean nailing down the core gameplay early is what you do in good game design. You establish the loop and then build around it and see what else you can do. The game's always been about trying to survive the unexplainable as an underpaid, overworked intern for a mysterious organization operating in the Swiss Alps. Maybe you need to step away from the game for a bit in order to refresh your experience after a while? This is an alpha- as it stands we're all testers- of course the core gameplay's gonna be a bit boring after years of playing it.
