Hearing what Nicole has to say about the exhibition is so fun! I especially liked when she said that "The form often distracts from the content.", which is something that can be said about a lot of characters in these types of games. In this one, however, I'd rather say it's the other way around! I've really come to like all of the main characters in this game simply as people, regardless of their, umm, looks. Of course, the more "exciting" content also makes the game enjoyable, but that is mostly because it's in such a good context!
Sorry for my blabbering, I just really enjoy this game as you can see.
Thank you for the response!
Given that there's obviously this much passion behind this project, I think you will find that the characters almost write themselves at some point in the future. I might not speak for everyone here but I think it's great if you can get to know them on a mental level at least as much as a physical one.
Cheers!
This is an extremely good base for a game, at least when it comes to visuals and gameplay mechanics.
I would really like to actually get to know the characters as people though and it would be great if the English was brushed up a bit. I understand that it probably isn't your first language, but seeing as how the rest of the game is of such a great quality, it would be nice if the storytelling aspects were up to par. I suspect this will be done in future updates, but I thought I'd mention it nonetheless.
If you want some inspiriation on how to do writing that's at least on the same level as your visuals, check out the game Divine Dawn on this site, it absolutely blew me away with its storytelling and character depth.
Anyway, good luck with the continued development of this sonn-to-be gem of a game!
This already looked like quite a good game, but this comment made me certain of it. I'll definitely be giving this a shot!
Having come right off of Divine Dawn (a huge recommendation if you haven't played it already and like good writing), I'm itching to play something again with just as much character depth and story intrigue.
Haha, I have no experience of writing novels myself but I can imagine the toll it must take on a prodigious wordsmith such as yourself.
I played a little bit more today and I must say that the sheer depth of thought of your characters has left no small impression on me. I know a lot of people, myself partly included, come to these types of games to find something they can't in everyday life, but this one has given me something I can take back and improve it with. Those are the best kinds of stories, aren't they?
If I didn't already say it, thank you for creating this game.
There are some games which are visual novels and then there's ones like this which are visual NOVELS!
Seriously though, the writing alone in this game is in a class of its own among the titles available on this site and that's before you mention the great art, music and, last but not least, the battle system.
It strikes such a good balance between actually showing you things and letting you imagine them as you would reading a book.
I can't really blame the creators of games which use English that's barely held together as it's rarely their native language, but it is just such a joy to play something with this much thought and effort put into its storytelling. I could be nitpicky and mention that it feels like there is a bit too much swearing at times and that there are a few "thens" instead of "thans", but I won't even if I just did.
I'm only finished with the first day of the story so far, but am itching to continue on with it.
Cheers!
I think one can tell just from playing your game that you're a nice person, so I along with everybody else who's commented here and on Patreon wish you a swift recovery and a prioritization of you and your health. If you're feeling happy the game you're creating will become more enjoyable and vice versa, so if you ever stress about the game not progressing, think about yourself first and make sure you are happy.
This game has so much good stuff going for it!
The characters feel pretty much like genuine people and I especially like how the MC is just genuinely kind and respectful. I also like how the different everyday events have their own little stories to follow, making it feel like a true slice of life game. I appreciate how care seems to have been put in to make the different events not contradict each other and make logical sense.
The English grammar, spelling and general usage of words is also among the best I've seen on this platform, which is really refreshing to see.
The thing that impressed me the most though, was how one character told me to visit her at work the next morning. However, the next morning for me at that point was Saturday, so she would be free and I'd have to wait until Monday to visit her. At that point I expected nothing more and just thought that even though she said it'd be tomorrow, I'd have to just create a small logical discrepancy and visit her on Monday as if it were natural.
BUT THEN, she actually said on her own accord that tomorrow will be the weekend so we'd have to wait! THAT is quality!
In other words, the amount of thought and care put into the details in this game is second to none, so I highly recommend anyone to give it a try if any of the above stuff seems interesting.
The story and characters genuinely gripped me and the renders are not only of high quality, but the camera angles, lighting and expressions all serve the purpose of further immersing you into the narrative. This is an exceptionally interesting visual novel, the updates of which I will be eagerly anticipating.
Fantastic renders, interesting characters, good story and nice music to top it off! What's not to love?
I especially like how the protagonist is just a genuinely nice and respectful dude. With just some touching up done in the English grammar department, this could become one of the cosiest and most enjoyable visual novels on the platform.
Although the constant swearing and grammatical errors are a bit jarring, this is one of the best games of this genre I have played. The story is fantastic, with a good balance of comedy and suspense and the characters are all endearing. The quests and mechanics are good too, so I'm excited to see where this project goes.
As I mentioned, the only thing that's really holding this game back is the language IMO, so I really hope it will be cleaned up so that it can reach its full potential.
