I agree that the "Going Up" theme is not really strong at all in the game except the fact that the player enters a tower and "climbs" stairs at the end of each intermediate level. The Enemy AI definitely is very simple, but I did purposely make them much weaker towards the end after some play testing feedback. Thanks for playing and commenting!

Thanks a lot! This was the first time I've ever "made/composed" music. I have zero music background and I was only trying to make something sound OK. I agree that the music definitely does not fit and definitely does not change/layer well with the atmosphere/game type.

Great game! It's great that you were able to implement combat as well.

A simple concept with great combination of SFX/VFX/Music. UI also fits the Christmas theme that the game is going for. The movement mechanic gives some diversity and make the game more interesting. My only criticism is that it was not apparent to me what the lose condition was in the game since I saw the lose screen before my fuel and health ran out, maybe it's a lack of distance within a certain amount of time?

Thank you!!

Thanks for your comment! Making the cursor customizable was definitely something I thought of but ended putting it as a "nice to have" before all the other things in the game. The hitboxes aren't intentionally smaller, but it was a lack of polishing towards the end of the jam. I believe the hitboxes are based on their original prototype models of Unity's 3D spheres/cylinders but I didn't take the time to manually edit the colliders.

The SFX is great! I like the addition of the UFO homing missle concept to keep players moving around. My only criticism is that it feels like the movement has a lot of friction. Though, this could be an intended feeling for the game.

The background music and art are amazing! It's amazing how much detail there can be with pixel art. I never played Jump King, so the controls are a little weird to me.

Thanks! I haven't fully updated it with the latest build yet, but I'm glad it looks alright so far.
