Great catch on the thorns—they're quite overpowered at the moment, haha. The downloaded version is lag-free and offers the best chance for you to defeat all the bosses. The lagginess you experienced is due to a bug in Godot and playing on the web. For the best experience, I recommend downloading the game. There are a couple of crazy bosses you'll encounter once you get deep enough.
