Description of the license in description of your work is still written like for an artist (ex. "attributed to you"). You could try to just delete the note for an Artist and leave the rest.
Edit: Sorry, my mistake, it would be better to replace the note with a little fragment saying that user can use it as long as they will credit you by your username and maybe some guideline like: "The only requirement for using my assets is to credit me by my username (SunGraphica) in your work, description of your work, or text file attached to your work".
If you really want to gift me these assets it would mean very much to me. I am trying to make my first game and GUIs are one of the most stubborn thing to find. Your work is really high quality (especially the pack above the comment section) so not only it would be a life saver, but it could also improve clarity, feel and design of my games.
I need to find a way to send you a private message though, because right now I have only my private e-mail, and putting it in the comment section on Itch.io would be a pain later xD
Hi, I'm interested in using your 3 characters. Cloaked, Monster and Heratic. Could you choose one of the Creative Commons licenses and mention the code for it in the description? Since you said: "Feel free to use this however you like" I can link you to a license that is exactly that. https://creativecommons.org/publicdomain/zero/1.0/deed.en
The license means that these assets are a public domain and anyone can use them however they like. You can also use a different one if this is not what you're looking for. After choosing a license just paste it's codename (ex. CC 1.0 Universal) in the description of your work. Without having a license plenty of people may be afraid to use your work because they can be called "thieves" later. When choosing license you kind of say what people can do without fear with assets you share. It is also a must if you would like to sell some assets in the future, because no one with any wit would ever pay for something without knowing if using it isn't illegal.
You can keep the license and say in the description of your work that the only attribution you "need" is your nickname and user is free to choose between credits in-work, description of work or text file. I believe that it should be convenient enough for most users. You could also add some text file to your archive file with name: "Author Note" to make it simpler for people to find the info about attribution.
Quote from the license in your tags (Creative Commons Attribution v4.0 International):
"Attribution — You must give appropriate credit, provide a link to the license, and indicate if changes were made . You may do so in any reasonable manner, but not in any way that suggests the licensor endorses you or your use."
While in your description is:
"You can credit me as SunGraphica if you want."
This quote implies that user could use these assets without giving you a credit, but your license has an attribution requirement. Not only your words in description are now deemed useless (and misleading), but it also looks like you don't know the license you are using. I suggest having a license with which you would be more coherent. People who use assets professionaly are very sensitive when it comes to the licenses, because if they wouldn't they could have legal troubles. Using a license that fits you, and you actually understand, would help with your reputation and gaining more followers who would like to use/buy your work.
I hope you will find my comment useful and that it will help you later in your life when building your reputation on asset stores. Good luck! :D
well, one of the easiest things you can do would be to just delete these .ini files.
Ogg folders work fine without this file so I think it isn't that essential.
Code in .ini file looks like this:
"Fx 3.mp3=@Fx 3.mp3, 0" and so on
I'm going to be honest, I have no idea what it does.
From what I read it's a Windows file which is trying to "save a config for a program". And it is usually a hidden file on Windows. You can see hidden files by clicking some options in Windows file manager
Win 11: View>Show>Hidden items
Win 10 View>Options>Change folder and search options, next choose "View", then "Advanced settings" and in the end "Show hidden files, folders, and drives". After that press "OK".
After deleting these files you can just update your download files so they will be without .inis. I think that the issue is mostly on Linux, because I didn't see any other comments pointing out this issue.
Hi, your .ini file uses root access and makes folders difficult to use since you cannot modify or delete any files in them from desktop. I needed to use terminal to delete these folders on Linux. It would be really cool if you would either delete or change the .ini file in case anyone else will have a similiar issue. The only folders which were unlocked for me were "ogg". And these were the only ones without the .ini file.
I still like the music though. It's amazing. It's cool that the .ogg weren't locked :D
