The shroomiest, gloomiest game on itch by far! One of the best roguelike, deckbuilders we've ever played. Congrats Team Lazerbeam!

Love it! Played this at the last Makers Massive and it was super fun.

Yeah our onboarding sucks, it's something we're trying to get better at with our future games. Thanks for the feedback.

Thanks a ton! Balancing still remains a bit of an issue but hopefully one day we'll give this project a revamp. Thanks for the kind words about the music.

Epic! Been looking forward this coming to Itch.

Unfortunately not at this stage. If we make it into a full game, it'll be something we definitely implement. But this is just a prototype for now :)

Thanks @Tironnasaure - super stoked you liked it. The "twist" is often discovered by mistake :P

Thanks @Froodler! Glad you enjoyed it :D

Thanks for playing Rohun!

Glad you liked it and sorry to hear that it wasn't the best experience on the first play. I think allowing players to unlock the top slot is an oversight on our side. It comes down to the problem of knowing our game too well and not really designing with that in mind. We've had a few players experience that so it's certainly a design flaw on our side.

We're currently exploring the idea of using the same systems and assets and thinking of a fairly new game to make. We recognize that the biggest flaw of the game, is the game itself! So we're hoping that round 2 will result in a more coherent, more independent style of play which is still intuitive.

Thanks for letting us know and being a supporter of what we make :)

You're 100% right. We've found the bug and will upload a new version asap!

Mega high fives right back at ya! Thanks heeps for the kind words and suggestions. Definitely worth playing around with. 👌

Oh bleak! That does sound like a bug. We'll investigate how this happened and try fix it on the next update. Does it happen again if you start over?

What's the Platter? is a wholesome, deck-building, tile-placement game about making tasty snacks!

Play it here. https://studiobolland.itch.io/whats-the-platter

What's the goal?
Get a job in a world-famous Bread Kitchen.
Do this by working your way to selling a 9-piece platter!

How to play?

  • Build platters by creating food combos.
  • Get new objectives.
  • Receive rewards for completing objectives.

Nice game! Simple to understand and I imagine hard to master. Scored 208!

Haha! Glad you enjoyed it :)

Whoop whoop! We had a lot of fun. Nice loop and nicely balanced.

Great roguelike! Great deckbuilder! And amazing art too. 5/5

Theeeeenks :) Yeah my guess is it might make it a liiiiiittle bit too easy but worth exploring for sure.

Thanks for taking it for a spin (or roll in this case!) We've buried this project for now, but maybe one day we'll *open up the tomb*

Thanks for playing! Yeah, there are LOTS of things we wanted to do better, and we had a whole rad wizard theme that we wanted to implement too, but time just escaped us and we needed to move on.

Such a rad, hilarious game! Such a great concept. 5/5!

Incredible game. I'm putting my money on this one winning it! Love all the mechanics, interpretation of the theme and overall vibe! 5/5

Thanks so much for the feedback! We've had quite a few bugs with our run mechanics so we've decided to revert to a simpler execution. Now it's just about focusing on the track/course and trying to beat Dinobot! Thanks for the kind words. We'll be posting an update today.

I think a lot of people are experiencing the same troubles! We're going to push an update today to make the running mechanic a lot easier. The skill barrier is a little too high at the moment :)

Thanks for the feedback! We totally hear you, we're going to push an update today with simpler run mechanics! Hopefully that'll do the trick :)

Took me a while to get the jumping right but once I did, it was fun! Sometimes the falling can be very unforgiving but overall it was a healthy challenge :) Great job!

21540 was my top score! I really like the upgrades mechanic that you get from hitting targets and I managed to get some sweet combos from hitting the bombs. Great job!

I really had to learn to fly in that one! Very tricky but seemed to get the hang of it. Got a few coins but couldn't manage to get the egg in the nest. The game has a super nice polish to it - awesome work!

I havn't played many text based narrative games but this was interesting. Good job on finishing the jam - not many people can say that! :)

Really enjoyed this game. I got to 125km in the air :) The UI was very intuitive and I got the hang of it really quickly. Super game.

Nicely done! The later levels are quite tricky :) I love how you've implemented all those achievements. Great job!

Nice job! I got 24! It felt like I was in the belly/mouth of a big dinosaur. Nice game boy style execution.

Great game! It reminds me of a combo between Street Fighter and Tony Hawks Pro Skater for some reason. Nicely done :)

Thanks a ton! Here's an mp3 of our theme song if you want it: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ten6s17x1ztmvji/Idle%20Sands%20Theme%20%28final%29.wav...

We're super super close to releasing a big balancing and bug fix. Thanks for holding tight! We appreciate your patience :)

Thanks for the feedback. We'll plan that in a future update :)

🦀🤖❤️

We're hoping to launch a new update today which will most likely solve a lot of these issues. For the most part we feel it's a balancing problem we're trying to solve which will hopefully make the enjoyment last a bit longer. Stay tuned for a new update! Super big fist bumps for playing our game and leaving some feedback. It really helps us a lot! 🤜🤛

Thanks for the feedback :) We'll try implement your suggestion.

Thanks for your feedback!
