This game is just so lovely and heart-warming!! My favorite thing about this game is definitely the artistic choices. I think the 2D and 3D arts work very well with each other and expresses the topic of the game even better with the narrations. And I think your topic fits very well with the game jam's theme. Oh! And also the music is very nice and fits well with the rest of the game too :) I can't wait to see more game plays/levels implemented if that is in your guys's plans!

I love the overarching idea and purpose of the game, I think it fits the overall game jam theme well! I also love the arts in terms of style and assets that you created! I do sense that there would be more polishing to be done in the future and I am looking forward to seeing that! And I do see that you posted a quick instruction in the comments section but I'm not sure if you considered putting that in the game as its own page/setup in the game. For example, you can have a "Tutorial" button and include the instructions there as a separate page, or even having a quick walk-through of the initial/basic game play in the beginning for users to get familiar with the game! I did have a issue where the game was a little too laggy to play, but not sure if that is just my laptop. Overall really nicely done :)
I was very drawn in by the amazing storytelling from the ideation document. I love the core gameplay idea and the actual default/combo actions and what they do. I think they make sense in this gameplay and also play a role in limiting what the player can actually do.
One thing that caught my attention is that although this game sounds like a fun one to play ( lots of cool characters and their unique roles), I am a little worried about whether this game would do its best to educate players about the root cause/solution to the climate change issues. I think this is just coming from the grey area of either to make a game more fun or to make it more educational, and it is hard to combine both. I think the turn recap phase really helps with the educational aspect of it, and using that to your fullest (even adding some explanations of the root cause of the climate change issues) would be great.
Overall really cool ideas! Can't wait to see how it turns out.
I personally really like the idea of how a player would be able to see how their action can impact the environment, but I do think that at this stage of climate change, a lot of people actually do know and recognize the harm in their actions, they just do not know how/why they should change their behaviors, maybe it could be good to look into how to implement that a little more?
One line from your ideation document: "Educational dialogues on fossil fuel usage with critters".
This is something my team also considered but we recognized that players probably do not want to be reading a long block of texts throughout the game so I would suggest to be mindful of that!
Overall I am excited to see how this game turns out!
The art is so cute and cozy!! I personally really enjoyed the storyboards and how they gave me a brief insight into the gameplay, giving me the opportunity to immerse myself as the main character in the game. I also love cute and cozy games to begin with so it found its target audience haha.
I know this is just the ideation stage but more system design would be nice to see implemented!
I am very excited to see how this game turns out :)
