How does your concept engage in the jam's themes?
Light pollution is an under-discussed environmental hazard, often left out of discussions about climate change. However, it disrupts animals critical to our ecosystem, particularly those guided by natural light sources, and affects our health as well. We’re changing the story by addressing something that’s treated as inherent to modern lives, and showcasing solutions we can take to prevent is affects on wildlife and ourselves.

Use of Theme / Inspiration
The aspects of our theme that we find compelling include focusing on how the animals that are important to our ecosystem are affected by light pollution. There are many different ways that light pollution affects animals, which ultimately affect human life as well. We incorporate this in our story through three different interactions with three unique animals (moth, frog, sea turtle) that cover the various ways light pollution affects animals. The game is inspired by the way the town Flagstaff, Arizona, combats light pollution. Gameplay-wise our references are Night in the Woods and Planet of Lana.

Lovely art and concept! Looking forward to seeing more and playing it. A quick suggestion is to maybe (if you have the time) think about why the mayor in this particular story chose to collect the stars to light the city in the first place. This may help give you more depth to the final conversation and the need to convince him. It can also help you guide the progression (like, maybe some of the other animals have their opinion about why the stars got stolen), leading to some possible reveal in the last conversation/ending.

Your art style is so cute and it does remind me of Night in the Woods, which is my favorite games. I also like your choice of tackling the issue of light pollution as that's an area of climate change I haven't really considered. My only critique is that I would like to see more about your development plan so I can get a better scope of how you plan on approaching your game in terms of development. Aside from that, you game looks cute and promising and I look forward to seeing your finished product.

The art is so cute and cozy!! I personally really enjoyed the storyboards and how they gave me a brief insight into the gameplay, giving me the opportunity to immerse myself as the main character in the game. I also love cute and cozy games to begin with so it found its target audience haha.

I know this is just the ideation stage but more system design would be nice to see implemented!
I am very excited to see how this game turns out :)

I am loving the theme and idea behind this game. It is opening up my eyes to the effects of light pollution and how it affects the animals. I cannot wait to play this game.
