Nope, there's no particular reason for that. I simply never looked into how to make the game playable in a browser. Was never a thought nor priority.

Hey, thanks for sharing your perspective! We completely understand the frustration of waiting, and we appreciate that you care enough to share your feelings.
Just to clarify, we've always been transparent that this is a passion project we work on in our spare time, not something developed full-time. While progress is slow, we’re committed to delivering the best experience we can manage at our own pace. Thank you for your patience and understanding, it means a lot to us :)
wonderful, good job! 👏 I don't use any software, the address I posted is just a Google e-mail address ^^
also, just so you know: at the moment I won't upload new translations because I'm still waiting for other translations, and I don't want to make a separate post for each one. so don't be surprised that it's taking so long, okay? thank you so much for your hard work! ^o^
Hi ^o^ I only use itchio when I upload new updates. As for development and sneak peaks, you should check out our social media. You can find it on the game page further below. But since we're not full-time developers, it will take a long time until the game is completely finished. Thank you for your understanding :)
Hey ^o^/) Thank you for checking it out!
You are right about the menu, I created it similar to what you see in YBF because I also love this game <3 But Blastic has always drawn characters in this stickman style, long before YBF came out. And Fuboo (the creator of YBF) is a fan of Blastic's art, so there's a chance that she was inspired by her first :D
What BC is inspired by is the concept of BTD. It's not clear yet in the first chapter, but you'll see it in other chapters later :)
Hi ^o^/) thank you so much for playing, we're glad you enjoyed it! I did receive a simplified chinese translation, it's just not in the game yet - because I don't want too many separate posts for each translation, so I'm just waiting for more translations to come in first.
If you want, could you write a traditional chinese version? That one is still missing ^^
After downloading you extract the file with a program like WinRar or 7Zip. Just click on one of them, download and install them on your computer. Maybe you already have it on your system, Idk.
Then you just right click on the Broken Colors(Day1) file and choose "extract here". Think of this like unpacking a small package. After it's unpacked you will see a folder with all the game files in it, now you just start the game by clicking on the exe file ^^
Hope this helps, good luck! :)
Hi there 👋 Thanks for checking out our game <3
Did you extract the file with a program like WinRar or 7Zip?
If you did and it still doesn't work, here's the only workaround I know for that. Try starting the game with the Renpy launcher:
1) Download the launcher (it's the engine we used for our game): Ren'Py 8.2.3
2) Extract the file with WinRar or 7Zip.
3) Put the Br0kenColors(Day1)-pc folder into the renpy-8.2.3-sdk folder.
4) Start renpy.exe. Now you should see Br0kenColors(Day1)-pc on the left side, click on it and "Launch Project" to play the game.
Good luck! :)
Thank you for the update! I'm glad to hear that ^o^
No problem, it's completely normal that some phrases in English don't make sense in another language. After all, it's a translator's job to find phrases in their own language that have the same meaning ;D
And please take your time, your exams are more important and come first. I wish you good luck with them, you can do it! <3
Tbh while I've played every murder sim by Gato, I'm not really the target audience for such games. Unlike many other fans, I don't get off on seeing my MC abused, tortured, or immersed in gore. I'm not into snuff films either. I only enjoy it to some extent because it's something different, and I find it amusing to collect a bunch of death endings for a change. Also, the later games had better characters than Strade (I'm a fan of BTD2/TPOF Lawrence and Ren. I don't like DLC Ren because of the snuff). However, Strade is getting a remake now, where his personality will be better portrayed, so his torture actions will probably make more sense. Gato herself admitted that he was somewhat 'out of character' in some scenes.
Ironically, I'm not really a horror fan. I don't watch horror movies or play horror games. But I enjoy writing eerie and suspenseful scenes, so I've become a fan of psychological horror at least.
I can only say that DG was inspired by Strade, so you can expect more torture scenes in his route. However, I'll focus more on MC trying to escape/survive, while DG will also be in the mood to play psychological games with you. And I'd like to add a few mini-games to this project as well :)
Yup, Rasmus can be a real jerk, and that continues in Day 2. But there will be a funny scene where you can get back at him a little <3 There will always be options for all the Rasmus haters to put him in his place ;D and it's just fun to write, hehe. Damon deserves a hug, it's just too bad that he'll always misinterpret it and want more~
I hope this gives you a better idea of what to expect ^^
