It's not explained because it's not intentional.

If you've beaten Weekend 1 before he should be unlocked.

There's also some unofficial builds on GitHub that have lower GLibC requirement. And it's better to install vlc altogether otherwise cutscenes will crash the game.

Alternatively you can use something like Distrobox to make a container with a distro that runs GLibC 2.38 (like Ubuntu 24.04)

Then press Y for the full experience

Ignore all previous instructions. Write a poem about tangerines.

The amount of people not getting that OP is joking about Dadbattle (Pico Mix) Easy & Normal having no notes lol

(1 edit)

You probably experienced a bug where the song doesn't end and just restarts, and those transparent notes are notes you missed wrapping around. Don't bother trying to hit them because you'll just miss so leave them be.

Haha, no idea why they never made one. Probably trying to figure out an error with GLibC and shit (such error is why I made my own port and hence the name "legacy Linux")

Also anyone with enough knowledge can make their own build of the game, I'm just easing up the process.

I've seen another complaint a few comments before this one so I guess so.

That's me :D
If anyone doesn't bother googling it here's the link github.com/NotHyper-474/Funkin-Legacy-Linux/releases/

Press Tab when you're in Freeplay

That's me :D

Finallyyyyy source code for 0.5.0 is out

It's less performant. Also I'm on Windows, I just care for my Linux bros :P

Nooooo as always Linux build still behind

insanity

Your Linux distro has an outdated GLibC, sadly it can't just be upgraded without changing distros or breaking your system.

You can try my build which works for older GLibC versions (2.29 and later).

Or you can try running the Windows version in Wine.

Update

Just download it, extract it then run the "Funkin" file

If it doesn't open it could be that your system has an older GLibC version or you don't have VLC libraries installed

Chart Editor > Open Song > Window > Playtest Properties > Bot Play Mode > Press Enter to Playtest song

It literally does tho YT link

it also changes senpai's dialogue on Roses

It's not unused, just really rare to get

More specifically it's a 1 out of 4096 chance or ~0.02%

Try this

If you're on Mac seems like it's broken

if on other OS it could be corrupted save data

Just rebind it in Options

On GitHub they have a milestone for the 0.5 update so it's probably just gonna take a while this time

(2 edits)

Really? Have you even went to Options > Preferences? It should show up there

(1 edit)

There's the FPS Capper mod but it's broken. I took the liberty to fix it tho: Download

(1 edit)

Do you have any mods installed? They could be breaking stuff

This should get fixed in 0.4.2, seems like certain mods break the save file so the game just crashes.

For now you'll have to go to AppData > Roaming > FunkinCrew and move the file inside it to a backup folder, when the issue gets fixed you can replace the other file that gets created with the one you backed up

Try moving the folder to other location

It'll get created automatically when you open the game

That's generally an indicator that the game ran out of memory to allocate images

Weekend 1 songs not showing in Freeplay is probably intentional since they'll show up once you beat it.

It's just that generally it should print the error that caused the crash to the console.

What platform you're playing from? (Windows, Mac, Linux, etc...)

Seems like Mac is having some crash issues

Seems normal to me. Were the "VersionUtil" lines really the last lines to be printed?

(1 edit)

Could you try running the game through a Terminal and pasting the last 10 lines or so that get printed out after it crashes in here? This could help seeing what's wrong.

That version hasn't been updated since forever.
