Hello 👋
We would be more than delighted to receive feedback on our newly published RPG Dating Sim VN (has nudity, so rather adult in nature) SkyRanch.Life 😍🤩
We're looking for feedback especially in these areas:
- game blocking bugs appearing after a 2nd playthrough (this is because of some vars that are not correctly resetted and they're driving me (JeFawk) crazy) - basically the game can be finished, and then it sends you to the character selection, where you can play again with the same character, this would be the 2nd playthrough.
- bugs appearing after using save / load: this is because the game engine's save / load system is actually pretty bugged. If you encounter an issue please open the dev tools and show us the error, and tell us how it happened, many thanks!
- the dialogue system: how intuitive it is, how does the scrolling work (especially when there are images in it), how smooth it is (there is a scrolling setting in the Main Menu, if you press Esc)
- what is your opinion about the main character (some said he's too ugly, others said he's too much of an asshole, etc)
And anything else would be greatly appreciated.
You can download it here for free ofc: https://jefawk.itch.io/skyranch-life
We also wrote a smol guide on how to Report Bugs Like A Pro: https://jefawk.itch.io/skyranch-life/devlog/581857/how-to-report-bugs-like-a-pro...

Thank you so much!!
What is up with the african beats on the background of the preview? It makes previewing it completely useless! I can't hear anything properly to figure out if this pack is good or not.
That moment when the content creator is so afraid people will steal his work, that he loses potential customers because the preview is completely useless.
Demos are awesome and more devs should use them as tools to give players a glimpse of what the game is like.
Has real value, has nostalgia value, and much better than the ridiculous 2h "for free" on Steam.
Could the devs benefit from releasing the demo for other platforms like the other Demonheart games (mac & linux)? Maybe find some early issues?
Love the music, especially the cute menu one!
I didn't manage to finish it yet. The art is nice, I like the pet ideas. Actually I think it might have been better if the pets were animals and not cyborgs. It would have made for an interesting contrast owner-pet and how the pet would show the magical girl's human nature.
Not a big fan of the story though but that's just me, I'm very picky with this aspect in many games. I found at some point a story part that ended with 1 choice, I didn't quite understand what was the point of that, it's not like I could have picked anything else.
Also writing related, there were some sentences that didn't make much sense, and sometimes the flow of the paragraph was pretty bad (starting with long sentences, etc).
I liked the UI, it was great to get to read so much at once, rather than pressing a button to read line-by-line. I hate that design, glad to see this was different.
Also the scrollbar is cool too because the line-by-line design usually doesn't give you the option to go back.
I appreciate the small download size.
Thanks for the game :)
SkyRanch.Life combines Dating, Visual Novel, RPG, and rogue-lite gameplay to tell the character's story influenced by player's choices.
Date Elves, Monsters, Furries, Yourself, and who knows what else.
Explore and fight your way through dungeons to save or plunder whoever or whatever the fuck is after the last boss.
I tried to keep it short and sweet 🥹For more info please visit the project's page: https://jefawk.itch.io/skyranch-life
Thanks 🥰
You don't need to be sorry, it's neither of our fault that I don't like puzzle games :D
Good luck with the project, I'm sure plenty of people will love it! (
You could add a Story difficulty mode where interactable items are outlined so people at least know what can be clicked. You can look at Skymen's BetterOutline Effect on the Scirra Store.
The art is amazing and the consistency between UI, character art, and the train is very well done!
Unfortunately I found the story to be horrible.
A lot of useless information that doesn't add to ... anything really. It's not even lore.
The AI says he was called X before a colleague of his was called X (this makes little sense?) and then the main character calls the AI "EVA" completely ignoring what the AI said it was called.
Overall the text is sometimes cringy and pretty infantile, other times it doesn't make much sense what they are talking about.
What stopped me was that I didn't understand how to start the engine. I don't fancy hidden object puzzle games so I will stop playing very soon if there's something not explained that I need to find out by clicking a lot of possible interactable objects (because with pixel art it's a bit hard to understand what certain items are sometimes).
I hope you continue working on the game! Due to the art, it seems like it could be something amazing, albeit not a genre for me.
Good luck and put it on Steam one day!
(By the way, I would put the credits (art, and c3) in some credit page because it ruins a bit the cool look of the main menu, the icons are very saturated in comparison)
I'd think this is pretty low priority and also i didn't render to check if the low res is only editor-wise or if it appears in the exported spritesheet.
You can probably reproduce it following this video I recorded: https://streamable.com/t81ym
Please excuse the offset mouse, the capturing software isn't that good with 4k resolution.
Got the demo today and it proved to me the software is very good for its price, so I bought it. Thanks for the bargain! I first found it on opengameart so that was a great idea for advertising.
I did notice it's called Godot Editor Engine in the task manager so you might wanna modify something to have that changed : P
For any future development an ability to lock layers would be very useful so whenever we make an animation with a lot of emitters clicking them to move them around would be much easier. Also an About menu with a possible contact way would be great. Like uhm join our discord here, or email here. You could end up getting business emails that might interest you (and a decent amount of spam too for that matter).
Looking forward to updates ^^
