Natives offer items they don't have. Natives ask for items but refuse trades without any indication or opportunity for negotiation. This honestly feels like I'm just rolling dice over and over again. If there was a better indication of what items or quantities the natives would be willing to trade for it wouldn't feel so random.

I just don't get this game. It honestly feels very luck dependent as if your starting area has bad planets, that just snowballs into not being able to do anything until much later, by which time any chance of a good score is gone. Is there some obvious strategy I am missing or is it just reset until I get a good start?

I feel like this game is very dependent on your start. If you have large islands close together, you will probably do better (unless your neighbor has larger and even closer islands). If you only have smaller islands strung out like an archipelago, you are hosed.

Is this possible? Seed 21746. None of the opening pieces connect and even if I send one to the halo, I still have no pieces I can link or add to the halo.

So it's been 2 years and I feel the same problems are still in game. Unfortunate.

Please make the tutorial texts closable. I realize that you want players to follow a set path initially, but it is very annoying to have parts of the interface blocked by unmovable and unclosable text blocks.

I agree with all of the above statements.

The other houses ran out of eligible spouses around generation 4 so that was the end of the game for me. I imagine it was just bad luck, but perhaps a more forgiving RNG could be used? You could also allow for distant cousins within the family to marry and for widows and widowers of appropriate age to remarry. Chelsea posted already about the interface issues so I will merely second that comment. On the whole I think you have a good start and I'm looking forward to future updates.

Another interface idea might be to replace the gender icon with a skull when characters die just to make it easier to see who is still alive when zoomed out.
