This isn't moving through time; rather, you shift and rewind through space. The pillars and platforms that shift are all cross sections of 3d objects, and the player uses these cross sections as platforms. This is also why when shifting, the intersection of the object glows and illuminates the rest of the object in 3d.

I definitely agree, but one jarring technical limitation that put a stop to any complex shape was getting the concave hull of an object. We didn't have the time to find & implement a working algorithm, so we got the convex hull which is easier. This limitation made it unable to find the crossection of any objects with pockets or divots, which is a shame
The game looks really nice and plays great, but there are some issues that take away from this. I found myself getting stuck on colliders a lot, and one round the gameplay was really slow (maybe the time value wasn't reset from the death menu). I really like the VFX, especially the shooting and the orb enemy particles as well as the bass-heavy sounds that really make the gun feel powerful..
This is a great game, Love the sound and art that ya'll made, and the game play is really satisfying.
By the way, I learned that enemies would attack broken generators. By having one remaining generator (I used bottom right), I was able to pick out and kill only the bugs that targeted my generator. I could technically play forever, but I stopped after 20 minutes lol
