Hey thanks so much for the feedback! :) Character switching will be here to stay as we feel its a really cool dynamic, BUT we will try to keep the annoyance to a minimum. Are you referring to the first stage where you have to dig and fall and run? If so, you can dig with your front paws ;) you dont HAVE to fall.

Appreciate you taking a look! well be polishing the game and publishing on steam too! Were you able to complete the game? :)

Hey. I mean, overall i thought it was okay. I feel like the angle on the camera really threw me off. Maybe take a look at other games to see what they do, but the slight offset felt unnatural to me. The AI felt a bit clunky, they would just kind of mash into each other and stuff. I think if the AI was a little better, the game would be more fun. Attacking and blocking was cool, but the objective wasnt really clear.  All in all not too bad.

Feel free to check out kilo and tunn :)

Remind me to take a look in a few days :)

:) if you want to discord me I can let you know about the first level. What I will say is... Read what the mushrooms say :)

Shhhhh. :) don't tell anyone. This is a room we use to test all the levels in the production build haha

haha thats awesome! Im glad you enjoyed it. These two are definitely an odd pair, but we love them!

Sounds good. Right now I think we do have plans to publish it. But we're probably gonna do some things like polish and achievements :)

Yay thank you. Glad you finished it. If you click view game page there's a little writeup on the characters and their story!!!

Thanks for your comments!! Ya the levels weren't foolproof and you could get stuck. We tried to minimize it as much as possible but there's still some bugs lol. One of the mushrooms in the first level tells you that restarting is OK :)

Hey thanks so much for the feedback!! Glad you enjoyed it. I would have loved to see ya finish the game! You did miss a lot of neat stuff. If you do end up deciding to complete the game, I'd love to see you finish it!

-We thought the switch mechanic was super fun too.
-Ya, theres definitely an issue with character switching where we dont disable/enable everything properly so sometimes it does glitch a little. We felt this gave it that indie flavor haha and with the time crunch, we just couldnt polish it all up
-theres absolutely some glitches and you can get wallstuck, but the levels arent too bad that restarting is a big pain point
-glad you liked the visual style, our artists were awesome. we MAY polish the game up and publish on steam.

Thanks so much for your feedback and your willingness to play our game :) If you could leave a link to it on the youtube video description we would be super grateful.

thanks!!

Thanks so much for playing! :) Glad you like the character switch, we thought it was a really cool mechanic.  We hope you play through to the end sometime! :)

I think for your first game you did a REALLY good job here. Theres a lot of neat things, like the enemies, spawning cursed snowmen. I also really like how your Snow bar doubles as both a health bar and a resource bar for attacks. Great job!!! You should be really proud of this

For sure. If you're ever doing something simple and need a tiny bit of coding I'd be down to help out with that and proofreading stories etc. :) The person who did the sound and music for our game also used Reaper, but he was able to get his hands in some unity and is actually responsible for a lot of level design you see in the game!

Thanks for the kind words!! We initially were thinking "nuclear winter" as a concept. We were going to take a bit more of a darker angle. One of our artists put together the snow, and Kilo and Tunn running in it and we loved it!

Then we thought you could maybe fall into a cave...which led to: "we need some background assets. maybe some mushrooms or something?" and one of our artists made the first mushroom which looked like this guyWe thought it was super cute and immediately coined the name "mushie". The whole mushroom concept took on a life of its own after that and became integral to the game as you'll see in the playthrough lol. We just think they're light hearted, cute, sassy little shrooms and we love em!

Thanks for your question! :)

Thats totally cool. If youre into programming, Unity is really powerful and you will probably find a lot better support and documentation. Id highly recommend giving it a go :) Good job once again

Really cool mechanic with the slides!!! A little buggy at times, but awesome work!

This was fun to run around for a bit and throw snowballs at baddies. I enjoyed the monsters with the big heads and their death sound made me laugh. Kudos on going 3d. Cool concept. I like the snowman snowball throwers!

If you record one, please link it here, would love to see it! :) I also spun up leaderboards for Fastest Times!

:) Totally agree. Glad you took the dark angle!

The concept is cool and it was fun :) Good start!

I enjoyed your game. And ya, a bit dark. We wanted to go dark too but I think with covid and this year being what it was, we decided to take a lighter angle. I did really enjoy your game! Thanks for posting

I loved this game. I think the character is a bit big which makes platforming a bit clunky at first, but I was able to get to the end!! I love the spring platforms! I think from a mechanics perspective this game was a ton of fun and I like that you put checkpoints in (having to start from the beginning of the game would have sucked). Great job!!

I took a glance at this at first and I think because it was just a choose your own adventure and was tired from working on our game I had closed it. Im honestly REALLY glad I came back and gave it another chance. The story was actually really touching and the sound did really add to it. There were some dark moments and it definitely gave me chills at time. The subject matter you touched on is difficult - but I mean, the game IS called a DARK winter's walk.

I think with some artwork this could have been EXTRA cool, but i think you did an awesome job!

I think charming is the right word. It was cute, running around as a little pinecone, leaving lil pine cone footsteps. The music was chill and the gameplay is super lighthearted. I wasnt able to find the hole, but i really like what you did with the intro! I also like the little jingle bells when you read a sign.

Good work :)

lol cool idea and concept. i think with some polish this could be really fun. i like the arm animations hahah :)

Hope everyone had an awesome game jam! I'm from the Kilo and Tunn team and I thought it would be cool to discuss what we've learned during this game jam or if you play through the game and want to ask anything about the game itself that's cool too!

Feel free to ask me any questions!

If you spin up your own AMA threads, I can ask you questions too!

We'd love to see a youtube playthrough of our game. Its always fascinating watching people's commentary as they play and what theyre thinking while trying to solve our puzzles lol

Enjoyed the music and the art style!!! Game was cute and fun to play.

A few smol suggestions:  I didnt get to the end, maybe a checkpoint at each candy cane gate would be good so that users dont have to start all the way from the beginning. And possibly spacebar as a jump key.

Hey. Thanks so much for taking the time to play our game!!! :) I watched your youtube video and not gonna lie I was a bit mad about how you beat my level lol. I didnt realize you could just push the big block to the right haha. Would love to see a playthrough where you find all the snowmushies and reach the ending!

Has anyone been able to do a 0 death run? :) Post your youtube video!

I really enjoyed the music and the animation of the snowmen when you hit them lol. Good job :) Was fun for a few run throughs!

Really appreciate it! We are so damn proud and excited about Kilo and Tunn and would love to share it with the world! Thanks for creating this game jam and giving us the opportunity to gather as a team and produce something that has made us all so happy.
