Graphics are fun, and I love the concept! My slow laptop struggled with frame rates, but with a bit of optimization this game could really shine (even more than it does)!
In Early game (0-2 minutes): focus on building houses and food stalls to grow the population. There are events that can really hurt your population growth and can kill your run if you're not careful.
Mid-game (2-5 or 6 minutes): population should start to steady out, so this is a good opportunity to grow your food supply, so the Rot event doesn't absolutely destroy you in the late game. I usually start burning houses down at this point.
Late-game (6+ minutes): Bingus population rate grows exponentially at this point, so everything you can do to keep that number down will help maximize your score.
