Hello,

Overview

I'm currently at the beginning stages of developing a new first-person game that was inspired by the game Bully (See images below). I haven't planned it out much yet, but the core idea is that your starting your first year at university. The aim is to graduate university whilst achieving the best storyline outcome that the player wishes to follow (e.g. Achieving romantic status with the girls, achieving best possible grades, being strongest etc.) For each unique character (Around a dozen or so), there will be unique quests and storylines which will require the player to achieve certain stats or do certain things etc. This help to add re-playability to the game. The rest of the AI characters will be randomly generate and place across the map at certain times etc.

The game will most likely contain some mature content so anyone wishing to take an active role in development must be 18+. It's also just a personal preference that anyone wishing to join the team is 18+.

I plan to use a range of assets from the Unity Asset Store to help speed up development.

Here is am example of what I have quickly put together in a Unity scene:

Roles

I am currently doing everything but I would like to primarily focus on the programming aspect of the project. It would be great if I could find creators to fill the following roles:

  • Character Creators [Currently Using Daz3D for the characters and importing to Unity]
  • Gameplay / Story Writers
  • Music / Sound Effects Producer
  • 2D UI Artists
  • 3D Object Modeler
  • Cutscene Animator
  • Marketers

I plan for the game to be released on Steam for free, and people can send their donation support if they wish too. However, if the game quality and scope far surpasses my expectation, I will reconsider the pricing and evaluated appropriate rev-share for each individual contributor.

If you need help with programming, here's my discord Kamigaru#7468.

I've send you a discord friend request. I like your work, really like it. I'd like to chat more if your interested. I've already thought of a few game ideas that could match your style.

Hello, I'm an experienced programmer in Unity. I know that may not be some people strongest areas which can restrict gameplay. For thoughts interested in requesting my help for their Unity game projects. I do have some requirements for helping out.

Requirements

  1. Allow me to market the game etc on my own channels etc.
  2. Will offer to work for free however if the project is planned to be charge for players to play, I request compensation for the work done.
  3. Dedicated to progress & communicate often using Discord.

If your interested, get in touch. We can then go from there.

Hey, I might be able to help if your interested. Just get in touch and let me know.

Hey, do you have any art examples you can show? What's your timezone too? If you don't mind me asking.

Thank you for the support, glad you liked the game. I was hoping to add a monster in but didn't have time. It was my first time experimenting with lighting in unity to create a dark atmosphere.

I believe you are the first who tried haha. I'll have to lower the jump value as a temp solution fix. I am currently working on a custom reusable package that'll be available for free to  any indie dev from the asset store. Aim of it being to make it easier for newer dev to get something working and spark that game dev passion. This jam helped inspire that idea. I then plan to make a medium size horror game after, this was basically a test run on the atmosphere to see if I could get something working.

Yes, some sort of item to help indicate if you were close would of been good to add. Glad you liked the game

I'm aware of the high sensitivity but your the first to report low frames. Was it in general or on a specific level?

Simple but appealing. Interesting concept. It would be nice if there was some sort of casual theme music playing in the background.

It was hard to understand the controls at the beginning but I figured it out. Some more guidance for the player would be helpful. I like the game, nicely presented.

Love the details that went into the UI interaction, you nailed that. Nice little concept for the game too.

I like the presentation of the game. I think the UI on the menu is a bit out of place though. Something you should consider fixing after the game jam.

Simple but it works. It would be nice if you added a causal theme playing in the background. Also, a bounce effect sound and particles with it to really add final touches to the polishing.

He may no longer be with us posting legendary content, but he'll always be in our hearts.

I am assuming this is your first game ever made. It's good that you were committed to getting something submitted to the jam. It would of been nice though it you expanded upon the Brackey tutorial a little bit. Like a dice the roll on the side which changes the ground direction depending on its roll etc. And a bit of music would of been a nice touch too.

If your just learning Unity, don't be afraid to reach out to me if you ever have any questions or a bug you can't fix. The Indie dev community is a kind and open place for you to explore.

Dice roll controls the time interval of the game, I like it. I have two suggestion though. I dislike how the projectiles are just white squares, maybe make a pixel art circle with a bit of colour. Also, add an audio slider so the player can control the audio. I like hearing music when I play games so it was unfortunate that I had to choose between the music being too loud or no music at all.

Besides them two issues, I liked the game.

A simple turn base battle game. My one suggestion is that you allow the play to modify the audio level. It was a bit too loud.

The presentation of the game is nice, the menu could use a little improvement to match the gameplay presentation lvl. I didn't have a second person with me so I played by myself. Maybe add a single player too?

I was going to add a monster that chases you around the map. This would mean you couldn't just sit at the gate and keep rolling till you opened it. That would bring the full theme of roll of the dice into play. However, I didn't have time at the end to setup the monster so I settled for quickly putting another level together. The flashlight would attract the monster to your location, so you had to only keep it on for a short time interval. That was the plan but it fell short due to deadline approaching.

I am planning on my next game to be a horror type game like this but not a maze, open world in a Forrest.

The camera is attached to the player, I don't understand what you mean by trying to move it to the north?

An item to do that would be a nice addition. Glad you like the game.

Be glad I didn't have time to add the monster in. I was hoping to get some screams out of them chill vibes haha

I think it would of been more fun if you had to follow the track that curves instead of avoiding obstacles.

High score of 172. I like the visual of the game.

I like the visual of this game. Maybe tone the bloom down a tiny bit on the player but that's just my personal opinion.

It's the block placement, I am just unsure on where to put it or if I even have it in the right place. Really stuck on the 3rd lvl. I tried over and over and got no luck haha.

Thanks for playing the game, glad you liked it :) And congrats to you too. 48 hours is a rough time limit to get a game out.

So I like the visuals and understand the concept of the game but can't get it working. Can't change hand or continue after placing bet. Hitting hold or hit doesn't do anything. I'm confused on how to progress in the game.

I like the visuals of the game. Didn't really know what I was doing. I figured out I could destroy dices so I went crazy destroying dices haha.

I like the visuals of the game but didn't really have a clue on what was happening or what I was suppose to day to progress in the game.

It's time I retire from this adventure.

The art is nice, I dislike that you have to go into full screen mode though just to see the game. Are you not able to change that?
