Hey there!
There is quite a few things regarding this so lets address each part.
First of all, definitely no point in you making it now, as episodes will be quite changed in the rework, same as I told to anyone thinking about translating it now.
Secondly, I used to have walkthroughs (both a pdf doc and an ingame mod) but I dropped them both for multiple reasons. I prefer players playing it by themselves without any help to properly try stuff out and see what influences what, as it always brings me joy when someone goes "wait, you had X say that here? For me she never appeared!". Now this is also kind of hypocritical as I play some games with WTs myself, but my view still stands.
The bigger "issue" however is related to how much WT mod/pdf says or knows. With this I mean that some choices could have much later impact. With this I mean that although rare, there can be circumstances where when I write dialogue I go "huh, would be fun if you saying this much earlier would make her react a tiny bit different now", say MC remembering a girl talk about something before and chiming in, and her appreciating that. So I might have a value the game tracks, but we don't know (including me!) that later that could lead to lets say +1 relationship point with X girl.
And that's why I stopped myself, felt weird for me to make my own dev approved WT, yet later on, someone following my own guide could end up missing a point or two, purely bcs I get some idea in future how to use a previous choice for extra dialogue etc.
Overall, those are reasons why I'm not that keen on them at the moment. Didn't want to write a simple yes/no so hopefully this explains a lot. And yes, it's mostly that (correct answer +/- points) in addition to those very few and rare future points (sometimes if MC does the same choice, you might get/not get points depending how many you have in total with that character).

The "death flags" are easy to spot. As in "girl tries to kiss you and you say no" styles of flags. The other part, having enough relationship points is another topic, but so far I've been very generous with them and there isn't stuff that's locked behind "need 100% of all points" or anything similar. As long as you start focusing that girl more and more in later updates, you're fine.
In current ep1-4 you dont have any such point of choosing yet ^^
And in future updates, while not yet 100% so don't quote me on it, idea is to "lose" one by one girl by choices/denying them/relationship points throughout regular play. Maybe if you manage to have multiple even through all that I could make a screen where you choose. But yea, first option I mentioned is my way I'm aiming for.
If there is no crash message in Renpy style, then it's on your side.
One of only things that come to mind is possibly pc thinking it's a suspicious file, it can happen rarely and randomly with some games in Renpy that use a custom launch icon.
- You could try -> deleting the game and trying to reinstall/reunzip
- Try installing in a different folder (Desktop)
- Pause any Antivirus that might block it and see if it can launch
It happens very very rare and there is no simple universal solution if that's the case.
Well no, some also play for the story and the developed characters, and many non h games truly shine in that department because not being harem allows them to show the deep characteristics and how different characters might react in the same circumstances (plot/story wise) compared to each other. In harem games the game is a lot more linear in terms of events as you have to follow a certain line so each of the girls of the harem can have their turn. Which is also fine, I enjoy a lot of harem games. But I wanted mine the way it is so it can be a bit less linear as pointed above, and some of my fav games are those non harem games, like your hated leap of faith, summer heat, ripples, pale carnations, and more. Again, to each their own, you have certain values you look for in games (harem and scenes with all girls) while others (like Samu and most of my players) have other values they search for. I see no reason to project your personal take onto someone's else (especially someone who posted 159 days ago...)

In the end you can only date 1 girl yes, but you aren't punished a lot early game (and this is all still early with latest Ep4) if you are checking the other girls and their paths at the moment.
As the game progresses you'll have to slowly start focusing on one girl, as it will be harder and harder to keep highest points and paths with all girls at once ^^

Yep in rework that segment got slightly tweaked. Avis technically also commented on it before, but yeah. Before it was also weird bcs if you selected to not help Simon, you'd literally watch it all happen 3 m away from it, and then playing dumb when he asks about it 🤣
That and some other sections got tweaked so now we always help our bro out.
As I said, Eiko is the main reason, but not the only reason of the rework. I've listed numerous other reasons, with few more not listed here as the post was already longer than any other I did.
Secondly, that's exactly the point. Nobody cares about Eiko. Literally.
That's the whole point. She is done so badly, and has so little involvement in game, that nobody cares about her. Neither as a main favorite, secondary... Just like you.
And that's exactly why she needs fixing. Both Simon and Falazio have more dialogue then her. Even Soo-Ah had around the same, and she appeared in a single scene/section 🤣
