I'm working on getting everything I need together for the campaign as we speak! It's my first Kickstarter, and I'd like it to be successful, so I'm approaching this carefully. I anticipate that I should be able to launch in the next few months - tentatively March 2023, but that date is very subject to change. A hardcover copy is definitely one of the backer rewards I'm going to provide, but figuring out printing options and getting everything in the proper format is one of the sources of delays.
Hey, thanks for the feedback! I'm trying to adapt the 'damage rolls for everything' mechanic from stuff like Heart and ICRPG and apply it to a FitD framework. I used clocks earlier in a previous version, but they were a little too static. If you want to represent a countdown, you could certainly have a 'time' resistance and subtract 1 for each roll the players make, regardless of the result and achieve the same effect. Maybe if they fail they lose more time unless they spend a protection token.
Thank you for the compliment! I'm currently working on another project right now to hone my skills, but I'm definitely going to come back to this to polish it further.
It's funny that you recommend that I rename STR and DEX, since originally they did have different names! And then someone told me "They're close enough to the D&D attributes that you should just name them STR and DEX to make things clearer." I guess that goes to show you can't please everybody.
That's a good suggestion regarding enemy stat blocks. I'll be sure to give them some love and separate them out on the next pass.
Thanks for the feedback! When I say something like STR vs. 3, that's actually you compare your strength score to 3 as if it were another attribute or challenge rating to get your target number. The target numbers will always be 4/8/12/16.
As for the rules on flying creatures, I agree that I should include some sort of rules regarding that. I'm not familiar with the AGE system, so I'll be sure to take a look at that. I also intend to have some kind of chase rules implemented at some point, but they need more time to bake. They're always tricky, and I'm not sure if I want to put them into the grid combat rules or the freeform exploration challenge rules.
