There's an official answer to this by the team:

63 used the formula [ N - 1 ], so SM127 uses the formula [ (N * 2) - 1 ]

They just followed the jig of how Super Mario 63 subtracted 1 from the original Super Mario 64. I guess they multiplied 64 by 2 (to symbolize this being a sequel) and did the same remove 1 thing, ending up with 127.

If you've purchased the bundle, what happens to things getting subsequently added? Will they still need to be purchased separately or does the buyer automatically receive the added item?

I was able to get all three endings. Great job on this game! It gave me that good ol' adrenaline. I also like how this feels somewhat like a platformer. I think it's a good mix and I absolutely LOVE the Easter eggs. If I may ask: What engine did you use to make this game?
