oh my god this is insanely cool. kind of starstruck you played my silly game, now. how the hell did you complete this in time???
def the spookiest thing i've played in a while, and i loved it. my favorite i've played so far for this game jam -- would be surprised if anything beat it.
the only criticisms i can offer are that the map was a nightmare (pun intended) to navigate and felt kind of inconvenient/irritating at points. i also thought that while the music in the darker areas was really well-suited, the daytime track wasn't the best.
i only complain about anything because the rest was perfect. seriously kudos!!!
i love all of the visuals and really adore tahn's design. incredibly impressive that you managed to create all of that art in just a week. the backgrounds are especially eerie, and it shows you have a knack for that even in different styles. like another commenter said, if you ever come back to this project i'd definitely add some sound design! i think that could go a long way :-)
hey! i'm alex. this is my first game jam and i'm very excited. i specialize in 2D art (check my name link out for examples!) and writing stories. going into a uni for game design come september so i want a bit of experience!
here are a few admittedly simple ideas! if any interest you, please write me and we can start a team :-)
1. the world around you is a single, gigantic organism similar to a fungus. the objective is to escape the main body and find out if there's anything else left. ideally a kind of trippy vibe with a focus on exploration and storytelling via setting.
2. you've just woken up from a nightmare. you need to find your mother to ask her for help falling back asleep. but your house looks so sinister at night, and you're afraid of some of the people within it. nostalgic but off-putting vibe, focus on showing the view of a kid.
if you want to work with me on a totally different project, i'm cool with that as well. please reach out <3
