Probably could've invested the time to write this comment to sit through the intro lmao

Absolutely, these nice little interactions is what makes game dev worth it for me. Hope to release my next game very soon, as I finished school this year I haven't had the time to work as much as I would've liked to but I'm confident that I'll get this unfinished game on my computer done within the next days.

I'm already excited for what you have in store next!

Hey there Niven,
another great game I must say. PSX-style never fail to give me the creeps and I am really fond of this story-driven approach. Also loved the little reference to horror games that almost qualifies as breaking the 4th wall, though this is quite far from being a bad game at all. I'm also excited for a possible sequel as hinted at the end :D
Keep up the great work, as always excited for your next!

A little love letter to 'Distort'
I think it's safe to say that this game was one if not the best of yours yet. The atmosphere was so dense you could almost not breath. Lost in space/ trapped on a space ship with hostile alien is a setting rarely seen, sadly, because I believe it to be one of the most effective in all of of horror, given that it almost always gives you this 'isolated' feel. This game not only does convey this feeling perfectly but also manages to have a short, yet understandable story through environmental storytelling with easy yet satisfying mechanics like opening/ closing doors that make the level building feel more natural.
It reminded me a little of Alien Isolation, my favourite ever horror game! I also had a horror game in mind like that, with a few prototypes that never worked out as I wanted, but you nailed the atmosphere here.
All in all even though I would've wished for it to be longer and the alien to be more of a threat, still an outstanding game, I expected no less ;)

All the best

What OS are you using?

Hey thanks for playing! Well I don't wanna advertise anything but there are 3 sequels to this game on my Itch.io page since you seem to be enjoying it.

Keep up the good work :)

As the game page clearly states, this game includes public assets, in this case 3D models, from the internet. The original author of these models is neither me nor the developer you linked.

The used models are protected by common contribution and since the authors are credited there is nothing stolen, especially not from another game.

Dankeschön ich schaue mir das gleich an 😂

I love it

That build looks really awesome! I know this game was more or less of a tech demo and I tried some different approaches to saving data but none worked out. So yeah... sadly there is no saving.

Hey Niven, I absolutely appreciate the warm words and fully understand your criticism. I am fully aware that the Trailerpark is not as good as others. Well to be totally honest I made this game in just a couple of days since I was on a productive spree after finishing "Your friendly Neighbor" and made this to get something done after I was busy with school for the last few months and didn't get as much done.

Anyways thanls for your feedback, I appreciate it and keep up the good work!

Hey Niven,

another outstanding game there! I expected no less :D
What really made this one for me was the sound design, the ambient music constantly made me feel like someone, or perhaps something, was approaching me - an unsettling feeling. Easy but effective gameplay mechanics, gave me quite some spooky moments 10/10 would recommend.

Thank you, cool video!

Hey Niven congrats for getting featured on Itch. You've really established yourself as the most able horror game developer on this platform! Awesome work as usual.

Sunday evening 5th of May 2024 - the game is finished.

Stay tuned, there might be an announcement within the next few days ;)

Well... good news for you my friend ;)

Thanks I appreciate the kind words, I‘ll keep that in mind when going into my next project!

(but I really can‘t promise that it‘ll be another Escape Hagrid game)

🥵

🥵

You mean "Pet Sematary" (misspelling intended) based in the novel by Stephen King. While the game is somewhat inspired by the novel, it does tell its own story.

Okay, I'll try to fix this as soon as possible. I don't have an ultrawide monitor myself, which is why I havent thought of this, but thanks for letting me know this.

No Bitcoin miner, but you're not the first person to report this issue. Other's got it working by restarting the game but I have no clue what's causing the problem.

U 1.1. rel. Date 2/24/2022

Layout changes performed 3/8/2024

Weird, I really can't imagine why this happens but at least it works now :D

When you start up the game, is there nothing like this panel on the right side? It may be a problem with the UI font but I need to check it.

Normally it should be at the top of the start Screen.

I‘m glad people from other countries can enjoy my games too!

Even though it served as an inspiration I fear it may cause copyright issues, so I'd rather not, but thanks for playing and cool video!

Thanks, my thoughts were along similar lines when I made this game. As always your comments are greatly appreciated Niven!

Hi Niven,
I was just about to set up the page for my newest game when I got the notification and instantly dropped what I was doing to play it - needless to say I was not dissapointed by your newest entry (I'm only telling this because weirdly enough they both involve cemeteries which I found kind of a funny coincidence).
Now I have to say this game was bone chilling especially the sound design made me feel really uncomfortable, especially at the hallway part.
Also I love the way the story gives you a sort of direction but also leaves the player room for interpretation - well done.
Overall yet another perfect short horror game!

Great video, I really enjoyed it and I'm happy that you got so many references!

Hey Niven, prime example of psychological horror here! Never would I have ever thought that something as normal as a lamp post could induce fear - yet it did. Great game, I am excited to see what is next!

cool video!

Please note: This is reuploaded version of the initial game I released last friday with slight adjustements as well as some bug fixes. Enjoy!

Awesome game, Niven! Even though it was pretty short, it greatly delivered the atmosphere, I'm excited for your teasered "Big Project" :D
All the best and good luck with your next games!

Yes, I am afraid multiple bugs (including some game breaking ones) were discovered after release that somehow went unnoticed during playtesting. At some point I decided to unlist the game until I can publish a patched version that holds up to my quality expectations.

Thanks for asking and all the best to you!

Danke sehr

Yup getting killed is the actual ending, I originally planned to implement an alternate ending where you can escape him, but that Idea was scraped as none of my ideas really felt fitting to the atmosphere.
