You're totally right! I started out wanting to make an action game, but it felt repetitive so I switched to puzzle at the last minute. I feel the same way about puzzle games where you can know the solution but struggle to execute it... I'll do better next time :)

Thanks for playing!

Amazing job!

Really good design on the bosses, there was enough difficulty while not being impossible to learn the pattern of the attacks. The ability to "Get back up" when you lose is a great idea, especially for a game jam, where people won't have too much time to give to your game.

Your music is great too!

Thank you so much!

Oh no! You're right, I forgot to round the position of the portals, too bad...

Thank you for playing!

Good job! Love the "crunching" sound effect in the second part, it's horrible :)

My favorite game of the jam so far! Very simple graphics but you conveyed the movement of the boat really well, it's very satisfying to get as much wind as possible in your sail. I love that you went for little bits of writing as a reward for exploration. I was disappointed when I started to find empty bottles (I assume that means I had read everything). I don't know, it really worked for me :)

Congrats!

Nice job having everything fit on the screen, especially since you included UI and controls. Simple but well executed!

Great graphics! Obviously after a few levels it gets repetitive but it could surely be turned into a really cool game :)

I like the minimal graphics, the knockback mechanic is really fun too, good job !

Thanks ! True, creating proper levels would have been more interesting... Next time :)

Thank you! You're right, the water patches are placed randomly with no particular logic 😅

Thank you for playing :)

Thanks :) You're right, the character actually just picks a random direction instead of properly bouncing off the rock, which makes it pretty unmanageable...

Thank you! Definitely agree, the random generation could have used more work, you can never see water, or spawn right next to it 😅

Oops! I'm using a french keyboard (so ZQSD instead of WASD), I thought I had mapped both but obviously messed that up 😅

Should be good now, thanks for that :)

Really satisfying to play :)

Worth playing just for the sound effects^^

Really cool mechanic I haven't seen before. Would love to see a full version of this :)

Cool idea! Had some issues where the text did not line up with the windows borders, making it hard to read which key I had to smash, etc. Otherwise great job !

(1 edit)

Interesting! I found myself going for one more try a couple of times. Although my best score (13.80s) does not reflect it^^

Cute art style, I especially like the main character sprite :)

At first I thought the "star" picture was part of the game so I kept clicking on it for no reason... But otherwise very fun memory game. I particularly enjoyed the "awesome" sound effect :)

@stuartlangridge

Yeah it's definitely not a very polished game, I made it in a really short amount of time and had to give up on most of what I wanted to do in order to submit in time. Thanks a lot for taking the time to play it and giving me quality feedback! :)
