thank you. Yes, Maui can compile to Android and Mac too. I think I'll use it for this, but also have a look to Unity and Godot.

Thank you! I like how Godot and Unity look. The problem is that as my game is mostly butons, fixed images or simple animations, and sounds, it can all be done with Maui and xaml. In Unity, Godot, and Unreal, maybe it's overkill to use them for this?
I mean, I don't have moving sprites or 3D, it's not needed to have a gamepad, or arcade features at all.
Do you think that in this particular case, it has sense to use them? Are those prepared for making a game that is mostly screens with UI and clickable parts?
Hi! :) I know that Unity is better for games in general and MAUI aims for applications.
But the case is that I made a game that is kind a dungeon crawler with fixed or animated images, and text and sound effects for combat, and simultaneous ambient music.
It was made in Winforms, just because it's what I use for my apps.
But now I upgraded my laptop PC and I can run Visual Studio (at least 2019, maybe 2022 too) and Unity at good speed. So I wanted to rebuild my game to be able to port it to Android and Mac too, and modernize it.
My game has no moving sprites, only gif animations. It may have some moving image maybe in a future. It just needs simultaneous sound effects and music, which were tricky to do in WinForms. No 3D, all is 2D. The controls are picture boxes, and buttons, and text controls.
So to create something like this, what should I choose?
I need this:
- Play sound fx and music at the same time, easily.
- Be able to animate some graphic in 2D, or at least play a gif, a video, or move an image in 2D
- Have buttons, picture boxes, etc as in my game now
- Create several screens that appear in particular moments (the intro to a level, the end of game, etc)
Now it does it all in Winforms.
I may choose MAUI because it is a way to familiarize myself with XAML for other apps. I am not sure if Unity may be better or if it excessive for this kind of game. There may be lots of things in Unity that I will not use.
What is your opinion? Thank you so much!
Hi! :) New update for Caverns And Dryads 1.2.1:
· Many bugfixes
· Bad events have been balanced: more reaction time in lower levels, and also more clarity in the text.
· Memory and speed improvements
· Fixed critical bug: steps were not being correclty reset when you started a new game after playing a full level.
It's recommended to update because of this critical bug that is fixed.
Hi! I have released this new graphic asset for your games.
It is mostly faces of fantasy heroes for your roguelike / adventure / rpg games. They come in two sizes (512 x 512 and 2048 x 2048), with and without background in PNG, and a tutorial on how to blend them with your background.
You can visit it on its page and see the full info and images here:
https://intuitive-arts.itch.io/fantasy-faces
I also have another product called "Juliette" that are many faces of a single character. But this one, Fantasy Faces, are many different male and female faces.
If you drop by my profile you can also get my free game Caverns And Dryads.
Hope you like it! :)
Thank you so much! :) Yes the graphics and programming are all done by me. Except musics by Emily from RollForFantasy and some CC sounds, as I said.
As it is now, it's a sort of roguelike casual action fantasy game in 2D.
In this moment I am writing the story of the game. Next thing after that will be to add secondary quests that the player can perform, in addition to going just through the levels.
This is a screenshot of the beginning of the story. Every time you reach a new level, a part of the story will be revealed.
After I implement it all, I will add secondary quests. I'll post about it :)
I have decided to change the format of the story window to vertical. this way it is more appealing. The images look bigger and better, and the text can look more readable and be longer if needed. The goals are also more brief.
Hi! :)
This is the thread of development for my game Caverns and Dryads.
Feel free to give feedback, and be informed of the current and future progress of the game. Read about the game and download it here:

In this moment, the game is an early release that you can play. There may be bugs (report them if you like), but it's quite playable to the end.
I am working now in implementing a story engine, and the next thing will be adding secondary quests.
The game works on PC Windows 10, 32 bit or 64 bit. It's all programmed from scratch in C#, with my own code. I am only using two libraries, one for the app controls, and one for the sound and music. I have also done all the graphics. The music is from Emily at RollForFantasy, and some effects are CC.
Recently, I released this character called Elyne, that you can download and load to replace Tamzene, anytime you want.
Scribus is very easy, specially if you make a Master Page (that are page templates). Then you can re-use the one you did as a template for your next tutorials. Finally you export as PDF.
You can configure a text box with the font, color and everything, and just copy and paste it for each paragraph.
Scribus is so intuitive that you can just use it directly without watching tutorials or reading anything, at least for me. Everything is in the correct menu, and everything is simple.
Trick: If you want a colored background you can edit your Master Page, make a box as big as your page and fill it with color, then lock it. You can add the page numbers and any header or footer to that Master Page, and just make pages based on that one.
Hi! :)
I've released my game, programmed fully from scratch in C#. I've made the graphics and the programming. The soundtrack is by Emily from RollforFantasy.
It's a mix of action game, text adventure, and roguelike-rpg. You can also customize the character. I plan to add more heroines in packs, monsters and adventures as plugins.
It's an early access game, that for now you can download for free, and donate if you want. I may incorporate suggestions made by the people who play. Of course I am grateful for any donation and also for your comments, ideas and appreciation.
Hope that you like it! :)

CONTENTS:
- 56 images in high resolution PNGs (2048 x 2048 pixels).
- 56 images with transparent background in high resolution PNGs (2048 x 2048 pixels).
- 56 images in small PNGs (512 x 512 pixels).
- 56 images with transparent background in small PNGs (512 x 512 pixels).
- PDF Tutorial on how to blend the transparent images with backgrounds.
Both the high resolution and the small images are detailed and sharp, so choosing one size or the other depends on the use that you are going to give them (for an avatar, the small one, but for a photomanipulation maybe the big one). The images with transparent background allow you to put a different background on them.
