Very good!

Was a bit hard, but I managed to push thru.

The game is fun, the enemy patterns are interesting and different enough that you need to actually think.

The controls (especially the aiming) are a bit unreliable though. I also think it would be better if the third color sword was more integral to the gameplay, but that might be just due to the shortness of the game.

Either way, good job!

Extremely charming, and full of fun designs.

Only two active items at a time fulfills the limitation. You've set up the items in a way that you need to keep swapping them, which prevents the gameplay from getting boring.

Also really fun interface- even the main menu.

Bonus points for the gameboy cartridges- but I might be biased on that one lol

Ooooh, the environment changes!

That alone made me want to play it to the end. Very peaceful vibe.

Would benefit from some story or something else to happen while collecting the items, and some visual bugs unfortunately break the immersion a little bit.

But the concept is there- and this take on "hero" is something we need to see more of!

The art is just suberb!

A very charming micro-game. Very cosy.

As for the game jam submission- the shortness and the simplicity work against the game here. Would love if there were more people to help, and more "pairs of things" to find to justify the limitation.

Thanks for the kind comment! :D

I was unsure how well the puzzles felt to go thru, since I kinda can't test that on my own- but I'm glad you had fun solving them!

Love the artstyle and overall vibe of the game!

Gameplay is a little bit simplistic, I feel like there's more you could do to diferentiate the two heroes moves.

But overall it's a pretty charming little game!

I've been playing around with godot for a few months. So now that I know what I'm doing, I wanna see  how fast I can deliver a polished game :)

(1 edit)

I see! I got confused because of the sprite palette changing trick to have more than 4 colors, so it only really works for foreground sprites larger than 16x16. Either that or I'm getting NES and Gameboy mixed up. Added a fixed version! No 16x16 tile has more than 4 colors, and the background has a max of13 colors!

Thanks for the heads up!

Done! You can now press R at any time to restart the current level.

Thanks for the suggestion.

That's a good idea.

I'll update the game in a few minutes.
