Thanks for the feedback!
+1 on tutorials :)
I almost missed this fun game but someone in the comments mentioned ‘alt’ of all keys was the ‘magic key’. PLEASE update your page to tell users how to control the game.
This is the most complete game I’ve played in this jam. Many levels with a clear, accomplishable objective that I could finish in a minute.
I bow to you sir/madam in your ability to craft/balance mechanics. This truly is a fun little ‘one minute’ game. Well done!
Love the childish/cartoonish ‘feel’ of the submarine.
The mouse controls were a bit frustrating. Often ‘missed’ clicking which felt bad.
The music was simple but cute and fit the overall art.
In general I could see this style of ‘patch it’ game working well with more polish. I think the basic idea of the game has ‘good bones’.
More of a tech-demo than a game? Perhaps ‘walking sim’ just isn’t my thing.
I got stuck on the bottom where I wasn’t able to move around :( Perhaps a button to allow the user to jump a bit?
I did like the graphics and overall environment. I think the ‘scene’ that was created was pleasant worked well.
Pico-8 is sort of an ‘instant nostalgia’ button for me. :)
Simple gameplay which was fine but there was no way to ‘win’. No score, just a drowning ship that I felt powerless to save. Perhaps a comment on our mortality and the ultimate futility of struggle?
The self-imposed constraints of the Pico-8 ‘genre’ of game are IMHO the most interesting thing about this style. I might not be the target audience to appreciate as I’m not ‘deep into’ Pico-8, but I commend the effort of working within such a tiny box!
Love the music. The graphics are inconsistent but that also ads a certain charm to a simple game.
Hard to tell initially what the goal was. Didn’t really feel a sense of agency in getting the rings in (moving randomly seemed to be a good strat).
Overall a cute little game. It was fun just watching the rings spin around in the bubbles. Physics FTW!
Honestly, I gave up after about a minute of fooling around. Some simple help with controls, mechanics and goals would be nice (even as flat text on the itch.io page as the game is developing).
I think you have put in some interesting content/mechanics but they are locked behind a wall of unknowing how it works :)
Good luck! :)
